My Liberty's transmission pan leaks. I'm planning to replace the filter and the gasket. Does anyone have an idea how to measure the fluid before I drain. Is there a dipstick from some other vehicle that would work?
Thanks

Your engine oil dipstick and a mm ruler can also do the trick in a pinch. Be sure to measure at a known temperature because the level changes when the fluid is hot (it expands). Warmed up, engine running, in park works well.

Here is a good thread on how to do it:

This works well. I used on my dodge caravan.

Good find Lauren!

Btw - if your scan tool does not do temp, you can shoot the pan with a hand held IR therm and get real close. +- a few MM is not going to make that much difference.
