From where and how much for the tool?

I think that the washer would eventually wear out, but it's a much cheaper fix than new adjusters. I've seen videos of adjusters being stripped down and reassembled, but not for Chrysler products.

Lash adjusters were pretty reasonable. I got a few Mellings for about 5-6 bucks apiece. The tool was the 8516a:

Yikes on the tool price, might ask my mechanic if he has that tool, does replacing the lash adjusters and valve springs contribute to protecting the valve seats/valves? Is this all accessible under the valve covers?

I thought of the tool as an investment. I just add it to the collection. I can always sell it if I want and get most of it back. Not really a wear issue on a tool like that.

The lash adjusters and rockers are accessible under the cover but you'd have to pull the heads to get to the seats.
