So Honduras, how hard of a swap was it??
More interested to see the rest of the how-to....
Thoughts on a stand alone ecu and LS swap?
After you do a SFA, of course stronger transmission, rebuild / upgrade transfer case and other items , then start trying/ doing your LS swap
I wouldn't be surprised if something similar to an LS level swap would torque the entire subframe/body and twist it permanently.
Kind of like too much engine on a small airframe airplane... not designed to handle those stresses and it will just flex and twist, resulting in failures elsewhere.
The KJ's structure is 300% stiffer then the XJ's,SFA'd and at full stuff I still could easily open and close every single door(no twisting at all).
That's reassuring. And I'm sure others have stuffed 400hp engines into XJ's before successfully, so the KJ body structure should handle it as well...
Not that I really need it to, as I plan to retain the stock powertrain myself.
I know of 1 KJ with 500+HP(modded 6.1 HEMI),was professionally built and was shipped outside of the US,the owner wanted it all hush, hush so your not going to find much about it.It was SFA'd also, the only way to properly fit a V8 into a KJ.
