Broke into my Jeep

Sentry Key is NO LONGER an option on '05+ models. It is STANDARD. I'm not sure about the Neon and Wrangler, and other models without keyless entry... it probably is standard anyway.

Again... '02-'04, black Key Head, no sentry key

It was an option on my '06 TJ... a very good option to have! Weird thing, I found very few TJ's on lots with it as an option. It was $295 extra, but included auto dim mirror w/lamps/compass/temp.

P.S. What worries me most about getting one of my Jeeps stolen is getting it back (in that case how it comes back). So anything to help keep the little (censored) from starting it is worth the money. drive.gif

I'd like to say that it will happen to them to, ten-fold. Hopefully something they care about will get messed up even worse. We can hope can't we?!

Sorry to hear about this.... that really *****.

I added sentry key to mine... and I'm really glad I have it. It's a really simple, passive security measure. The dealership had to re-code the BCM to accept it, and cut the keys.

I think the dealer charged me like $20 or so to cut the keys & install the sentry key receiver thinggie. The cool thing about it is just having the sentry key bit installed enables the alarm system in the Libertys brain, so that when you lock the doors, the car is alarmed... if the doors are opened the horn will sound.

Has anyone installed a alarm, where you still have a fob, and zero problems from the BCM or otherwise. My Liberty is always parked in the garage, but when in LA, I'd like to have it alarmed.

What types of alarms, brand name etc, and how much did it cost, plus the install?

Works great, sometimes to good. I need to adjust the shock sensor sensitivity because it sometimes go off during bad rain storms. It has an auto arm feature and auto door lock (which i havent connected yet). The installation took me two days. Most of that time was spent with the jeep service manual and a multimeter trying to track down the right wires to connect to.

What is up with all wiring being wrong in the libby? The om is wrong on all the locations of the fuses, the fsm was wrong on all the colors of wire when i was tring to install my steering wheel controler for my pioneer headunit. Took me a couple of days to figure something out that should of take 5min to put in b/c the wiring is all wrong, i had to check all the wires going through the clock spring with a volt meter to find what i needed. its a wonder the air bag didnt break my neck b/c at the time i didnt know it went thourgh that same clock spring i was unpluging and pluging it. :-s

I dont know if this is what you mean, but with the MOPAR alarm that I added (sentry key deally) everything works nice, I've not had (knocks-wood) any problems with the BCM.

I dont remember exactly, mydodgeparts has it for like $145 + shipping, I think the dealer charged me $25 or $50 to cut the keys and reprogram the BCM. Took about 30 minutes start to finish.

The descritipion lies a little, if you want to use the shock sensor wiring IS needed. The jeep dealership that this website is associated with is in Texas, they're good people there.
