I want to post to let you know, that I replaced a motor after this problem occured, eventually the motor lost its idol, and the dealership suggested an $8000 motor to resolve it. I purchased a rebuilt motor from ebay($2300), and had it installed. have been very very happy with the replacment, over 25k strong on the replacment. (no noise in cold weather starts anymore) my problem didnt start till around 80k.

Well... Add yet another to the list of cold start noise issues to the list.

My 2005 Liberty just went over 50,000 miles last week. I've been noticing noises on cold start but today it was more pronounced.

I just called the Dealership today and it's still under the 7yr/70k mile warranty until July.

I've read awhile back about the 3.7s having issues with some lifter keepers and lifters NOT turning in their bores as they are supposed to. This issue is probably listed in Nursecosmo
's detail thread. I need to start reading up on this.

Any advice ?
