I do not do trails much, mostly town driving and snow during Winter so I thought if I am going to own a Jeep I may as well look pretty in the process.

Well after fitting the brush guard I was surprised at how solid it felt, it is mounted on 1/4'' steel plates with 3 x 5/8'' bolts per side and is made from 1/4'' stainless steel upright plates and 1 1/2'' stainless steel tubing. Yes I have heard about how much more damage they are supposed to make in a prang but it is better then smashing your front end with nothing since the front is ALL plastic back to the fender flares and I know how easy that breaks first hand.

I know trail riders have those nice fancy armored steel bumpers with winches and what not but they are mounted to the same front cross member as the brush guard. With out spending the big dollars for something I do not need I will take my chances.

If saying bumpers like the ARB are mounted the same that is a statement that is false
Much stronger, and lots more mounting points on an ARB for example
Just for comparison, I hit 4 different bucks at different times at speed ( 55-60 or so ) and no damage at all to the ARB
Buddy with a GM pickup, brush guard same as yours hit a Doe at 35 and ended up with over 6000 in damage, the guard just folded back over
Both bumpers sat almost same height etc
Not slamming your guard at all, for you it works, but just real world comparisons
Just when someone compares apples to tomatoes just like to point out to say a newbie that there are huge differences

It is true that I do not know all the mounting points on a ARB bumper but thanks for informing this ''Nerb''on that, I know that the geometry of the two types are different on their impact angles, the brush guard will swing and fold and the ARB will try to push straight in. The idea of the thread was to show off how pretty you can make a liberty if it is only town driven, not to be put down because it is not lifted or has no big chunky bumper and wheels as this forum seems to cater for.

Everyone has done a lot of various stuff to their Jeeps in one form or another and I praise them for that whether I like it or not, the main thing is that they like it and I respect them for that.

You mentioned real world comparisons, I wonder how comparing a GM pickup to a liberty in front end damage cost real world? Wrong comparison I think. Lets face it, the odds of me hitting a deer in town are pretty low plus I have had no accidents in 20yrs, not saying it can not happen.

You are obviously a true die hard 4x4 guy and hats off to you for that, it takes a special type of person to trail blaze. But us ''Townies"" like a different path and in my view if you own a Jeep no matter what type or what you have done to it then I like it. Have a good day.

I like it! Almost looks like my Liberty. With the exception of chrome is painted red and my push bar is black. But love the looks bro!
