Just replaced mine....probably took 20 mins. It came out and went in super easy, the two difficult parts were transferring the oring and getting the electrical connector back on. The new one is 180deg off, so the connector didn't click on, seemed a bit strained. But the light is off so I'll take it.

Used a standard 1.5" 1/2" drive socket and had it in 4LO.

So I have a problem... The threads on the inside of transfer case are stripped out.. any ideas of how I can redneck engineer this so the actuator will stay in place

Just changed the transfer case switch on mine. Thanks for the "how to", it really helped a lot!
It took me 30 mins, and I took my time...
I also changed the transfer case lever bushing with the JL1Kit1.
Now the lever and indication on the dash work fine!
