This thread was a huge help! Just finished my OME install last week. With 100k on the OD and original suspension I was at 18.5" hub to fender front and back.

Went with the OME Medium springs/OME shocks:
Front - 2926 / 90009
Rear - 2948 / 60069

Not sure why, but the front/drivers side initially sat at 19.75. I leveled it off with 3 x 2" conduit nuts for clevis lift on the one side only. Now measures 20.5" in the front and 21.25" in the rear. Curious if any of you veterans have any feedback on this.

Why 926s ? Should of went 927s
Should of been level though
Did you tighten everything with full weight on the ground?
If not that could be an issue

I enjoyed my 926s before I got a winch.

x2 on tightening stuff with the full weight on the ground. Other thought- make sure whoever compressed the springs put the isolators back in. There's been a few cases on here were the isolators weren't put back in and that'll cost you some height. Ditto if they're in bad shape. Should have one at the bottom and one at the top.

Thanks for the replies both of you!
1. I tightened up the sway bar links under full weight. Was there anything else to be left loose until on the ground?
2. I did replace top and bottom isolators with Mopar parts & reused the factory mounts. Watched the shop compress and assemble them.

Thanks again- really appreciate it!

Lower clevis bolt should be tightened with full weight on the ground. That and the sway bar stuff is all, if just doing a lift.

I had the same issue (front less lifted), as i chose the 926s in front. I should have listened to Tom in the first place... Now i am in the process of changing to 927s with the teraflex bump stops. I will let you know of the outcome (where it stands) when finished.
http://www.jeepkj.com/forum/f203/drivers-side-lower-than-passanger-side-62504/

Glad to know I'm not the only one with this issue. I'm going to take Tom & Hoosier's advise and loosen up/re torque the lower clevis and sway bar link under full weight on wheels. Will see if that changes the stance and report back. Perhaps some time and settling in will balance it out also.

To answer Tom's question, I went with the 926/Medium as my Jeep sees more city streets and occasional snow than muddy trails. With 100k, I was due for new suspension. I was able to replace with OME springs/shocks for about the same cost my local shop quoted to replace with Monroe's. I love the new stance and I will eventually replace the tires with 245/70/17's. Would not have been able to do this without the expertise/experience shared on this forum.

Was just curious, we only install 927s here and most all of them are just DD's But great spring rate for a KJ
You do realize that the 245-70-17s are 30.7 inches tall don't you ?
Will ( depending of course on brand/ tread design ) have to pound the pinch welds over , and put up with decreased power and mileage

Thanks Tom- Hindsight is 20/20 for sure. I should have gone with the 927's for a level stance. My initial learning led me to think the 926/Med was right for me. I'm still very pleased with the OME setup compared with replacing with OE/replacement and I like the ride so far.

Thanks for the warning on 245/70's. I'm prepared to knock over the pinch weld if needed, but thought I read that Hoosier ran these with just his 926's. I'm currently at 8/32's on my current tires and plan to see how things settle and wear before I purchase the new shoes. Will do more research before going larger. Thanks again!

LIKE MENTIONED, DEPENDS ON BRAND OF TIRE AND TREAD DESIGN,
some will make contact if say a more aggressive tire where a All Terran may not

Yep, I ran 245/70/17s on my 926s just fine. Didn't touch the pinchweld, but you might want to trim the front air dam a bit so it doesn't grab when you're in reverse.

Hi,
Looks great!
Do your tires rub at that size?

A lot will depend on what lift
what width and backspacing on the wheels you will be using
then also the brand of tire and tread pattern

Easy answer is they shouldn't
but the above comes into play
so before we know that its hard to say
Example : 2.5 inch spacer lift, 8 inch wide wheels with 4 inches of backspacing a full on mud tire would rub

Thanks for reply.
Thinking of doing a modest lift , either H&R or OME.
Stock wheels with either
245/70-16 or 245/75-16

Go OME with 927 front and 948 rear springs , then either OME or Bilstein shocks, solid 2.5 inches of lift with nothing added.
245-70-16s would work as well as 245-75-16s although the latter will cost you mileage and power

One more question,
What would be difference w this setup as opposed to the 926 front springs
And softer rears ?
