Hi,

Has anyone been able to fit a long range fuel tank? I want to be able to add a second tank and then be able to switch between the two.

I've never heard of that being done. However, I know that on my Jeep, there is a huge gap of space underneath that you could fit another small fuel tank if you wanted and fab up a skid plate to protect it. I've never seen the need for it, but if you wanted to, I'm pretty sure it could be done.

Thanks. I am planning a desert trip and did not want to carry extra fuel on the roof. An auxiliary tank is a lot cleaner and keeps the weight lower. I have to carry water on the roof and did not want to become too top heavy.

Another option for a little more fuel capacity would be to load up a few Jerry cans on the rear. There are two ways you could do that. First, I think the Rock Lizard rear bumper supports a mount for them. Also, I know Phxtoad over on LOST created a mount for the spare tire that holds two cans and he has not had any issues. I'm not saying to rule out the auxiliary tank, but this just might be an easier way to approach it. Btw, where are you located?

The rear bumper plan sounds good. I will have a look around and see what I can find. I am located in the UK. We are planning a trip down to North Africa.
