LS swap

If the oil pan is going to be the biggest clearance issue, you could go with a dry sump on the LS...

Not doing that. Not putting money into the LS to make it fit unless it involves only swapping to a different pan. Only reason I am attempting this is because I I have the complete powertrain and all the accessories. If I had to buy all this shit for the swap, it wouldn't happen. Only reason I even considered it is because I have had this LS stuff forever and wanted to put it into something. Since I already have to pull the motor out of one jeep to swap the motor from another jeep I figured I would go ahead and try to test fit the LS and see what happens. I know I'll spend money on things like having driveshafts made and stuff like that but I'm not getting into it big money shit just to make it work. It's just not worth it for reasons you stated earlier. if I go back with the 3.7 stuff, I'm just selling it when I'm done swapping everything. I will have a shit ton of extra parts to go with the jeep too.

Yup! I guess many people think that everyone quits on a project once started. I am the type that finishes what I start, but also will not start something that is too involved. By involved, I mean massive fabrication. I am not cutting shit up to make it fit. If I can't get it to fit by positioning it and making the mounts, then it's a no go. To me, fitment is the biggest hurdle. The wiring doesn't intimidate me. Like I have said, I will test fit then give info on yay or nay.

No, as in here. People join just to ask how to do it, expecting there is a wealth of information available, then they flake and disappear. Happens every time lol.

I think this is great, and if Rkinney manages to shoehorn that LS in I would definitely like to see some photos/videos of the beast he creates.

Ls swap into a liberty is actually pretty easy aside from the exhaust and some of the wiring.I have a 2005 liberty 2wd with a turbo lm7 in it.If I can figure out how to upload pic from mobile phone ill Post them.

If an engine physically can fit in a vehicle, the rest is just wiring... doesn't matter what it is.

No but i have put a 355 in geo tracker and 4.3 and also a 400sbc in a samurai to name a few.

Tom's point was more to do with length of time in terms of experience, not big engines into small cars.
