More noise from steering/suspension... [Video]

Very odd, I did not have this problem or sound in the morning on the way to the work. On the way back, this started. Whenever I steer I hear this squeak. I also noticed it is there when I go over bumps etc. I had swaybar bushing noise before, but this time it is different. This is softer squeak, and I never had the noise on steering before. Fluid level is fine, just tad bit over hot level.

that sounds alot like fender rubbing, do you have a fender liner dropped down or rubbing on the rack and pinion?
could be rack and pinion noise.

Yea, sounds like something is rubbing. You sure its not the tires rubbing the fender wells?

Its its not that, it could just be bushings on the upper and/or lower control arm. Could also be the sway bar bushings.

Get a can of silicone grease and spray all the bushings really good.

I get this at autozone and it does a great job. I spray all the bushings at every oil change and Ive never heard anything from my suspension:

Edit: I guess it could be a balljoint too. Ive never heard them or heard of them making a noise though...

Thanks for the comments. It is scary, I never heard this noise before. :( No, nothing is rubbing (or at least nothing I can see). Why would the tires be rubbing all of the sudden. It does sound like a plastic rub squeak rather than metallic rusty squeak for sure.
The temp suddenly dropped yesterday from 60's to 12 overnight. And this afternoon I get the noise. Today, it is nothing but ice out there. I had very difficult time stopping a few times, and said "this is it, I am rear ending this guy".

CEL is on, it is P0441, which I am ignoring, hoping it will go away.

I will go to autozone or auto barn this weekend, checking that silicone spray. I guess it won't do any damage if I spray some in wrong spots, or overspray, right?

When I go over bumps I also hear it, but it is more like noise associated with flexing and compressing. :(

I would bet it is a bushing squeek
they expanded in the 60* weather and rapid contraction along with being parked funny when the temp dropped could have done it
Just turn up the radio
I use this method on the TJ but it seems that lately this is not enough
I guess I need to get an amp and some bigger/more speakers

No you can not hurt any thing with silicon based lube

Hi Hyed......yea spray the sway bar bushings real good as was said.

Your cel#0441 is evap emissions system. Probably a cracked or loose hose somewhere? Didn't you have this before?

I just drove to work, it was like an old wooden ship creaking and cracking all the way to work.

I would probably get those balljoints checked out hyedipin. If they are out of grease then they will be failing soon.

Just remember the lowers are covered for life. They may cover the uppers to if they are a good dealership. They should know if the lowers suck the uppers do too.

According to the dealer, because I had the balljoints replaced in 2005, it is no longer under any warranty. They are asking $105 to diagnose the problem

Do the replacements have grease nipples? If so, give em a shot of grease. Not too much to pop the protective rubber bootie. It could be a BJ squeak, upper strutmount squeak, control arm, or swaybar bushings....any of these rubber parts will make a noise. There is a rubber isolator under the front strut spring .....right?

The lower balljoints are under warranty for the life of the vehicle since they had a recall. Dont let them lie. :^o
