I am currently running a set of 245/75r16 Treadwright Guard Dog M/Ts and love them for the price. They have some vibrations at highway speed but nothing to write home over, and they're pretty noisy, but that's to be expected with any M/T.

I just took a look at Treadwright's website and noticed that they have a new M/T tread pattern, the Max Trax M/T.

I'm disappointed that there aren't any side lugs, but I'm diggin' the tread pattern.

These tires are made differently than normal Treadwrights. They're a bead-to-bead remold as opposed to a traditional retread. Not sure how this will affect quality. They've only been available since mid-October, so there aren't any reviews out on the web just yet, but I'm definitely going to keep my eyes and ears open.

If anyone cares to be a guinea pig, they have a sale on the 245/75r16 size right now, $108 a piece as opposed to the regular price of $129.

I've never used MTs before but those look sexy. Do you get lots of road noise at low speed and unpaved roads? My average speed down here on the rock is about 40, but you're usually going closer to 30. Not sure if that affects it but I will be needing new tires soon. I love my grabbers but I'd be willing to change it up.

I don't know anyone who has ordered them or are running them yet, but yeah... I just recently read about them also. I went back down to an AT from an MT this last time - spending far too much time on the paved surfaces. :disgust:

No radio for us we love the whiring sound. When i'm outside I can hear my wifes jeep before I see it. Her Maxxis Buckshot Mudders are loud.

The hum doesn't start up til about 20mph or so but it's a wonderful sound. Under 20mph you get a faint rumble almost. It's great. It just feels right.

Unless some really horrible reviews come out in the meantime, I'll be ordering 5 of these once my Guard Dogs wear out.

On unpaved roads you won't notice anything except amazing traction :D Mine howl a bit on low speed corners .. and when your going slow enough you can actually feel/hear the tread hitting the pavement.
Pressure has a lot to do with it as well. Most of us are running 6 ply tires without the nominal pressure those tires can operate at ... that makes noise increase.
The tires are not really circles any more with that kind of tread so you can imagine how that would impact the ride and noise level.

On a side note... upon closer inspection... yesterday I noticed the teeny tiny zig zag micro treads, down deep in the valleys of the tread on the Duratracs. If you put your finger in there and rub against the grain they actually flex and bite! So awesome!

these look pretty sweet, and a hell of alot cheaper than duratracs...they claim to be good in the snow, but I wonder....

tempting, but I may still stick with original duratrac plan

I love my duratracs, but I'm considering a set of these in 235/85 when the tracs wear out.

Look at the weight of them, how long they last compared to buying new, also tread like those will be crap in snow ( or atleast not nearly as good )
