RTI stands for Ramp Travel Index. A stock JK Rubicon 2 door is about 640, the 4 door is about 480 maybe???

Actually, on a 20 degree ramp a stock 2-door Rubicon with the front sway bar disconnected will get a score of around 830 or so...and a stock 4-door Rubicon with the front sway bar disconnected will be around 706....

here's Eddie's JK from JK-Forum.com getting a score of 1146....

I haven't been on the ramp myself, but I've seen pictures of a 2-door with the same kit I have get a score of 913...


EDIT: the scores were calculated using the ramp pictured above which is a 30 degree ramp.....the scores were then converted to a 20 degree score since that is what most people go by.

Wow, didn't know they actually keep score. I have a ramp in my driveway. Have to run out and take some pics sometime. I'm pretty sure my score will top 1000.

Yes and no

When you lift a tire

You lose traction

You will ALWAYS get MORE traction with both wheels on the ground than any of them off the ground.

Unless 100% of your wheeling consists of metal ramps on pavement....

2000# on the same surface area as 1000# will be twice as hard to move
so 1 wheel in the air on a TJ = twice the weight on the other wheel
sending power to that wheel will = the same force as sending it to both
provided you have the ability to do so

I don't know much about how to calculate that stuff myself, but I didn't know that 1000 was a "perfect score"....does this sound right to you?:

An RTI or Ramp Travel Index score is a tool to help you measure a vehicle’s ability to flex or articulate its suspension. Ramps can vary between 15-30 degrees of angle but most people tend to work off of a 20° ramp. To score a vehicle, you would put one tire on the ramp and drive up it until one of the other three tires starts to lift off the ground. Once that occurs, you back down the vehicle until all the tires are making solid contact with the ground again and then you start to take measurements. To make your calculations, you need to do the following:

1. Measure the distance traveled up the ramp (to center of wheel).

2. Divide that measurement by the length of the vehicles wheelbase (Jeep JK Wrangler Unlimited = 116 inches).

3. Multiply that number by 1000

The final number you get will be your RTI score.

so to score a 1000 in a JK 4 door you need to go
116" up a 20* ramp or until your back tire touches the
end of the ramp
to do better than 1000 you need to line up so that your back
tire can pas the ramp
this is VERY hard to do ,not line up but get the right mods
on your rig

that ZJ would roll off the top of that ramp and still not lift a wheel

But, it's still a ZJ, and that's still a CJ5. CJ5>ZJ
