So here is my plan for this tent trailer...

Once I have the canvas totally refurbished/restored and it is in top shape to keep Jen and myself dry and comfy in any weather condition, I plan on replacing the axle with a longer unit with the same bolt pattern as our KJ and have an additional set of 7'X16" alloy six spoke alloy wheels with a pair of usable used M/T R tires from our truck.
Exterior checker plate fenders, an equal amount of lift on the tent trailer to match the KJ,Armour and Rhino line the bottom of the trailer and add other creature comforts to the inside, like a flat screen TV with Satellite receiver,
some ambient LED lighting...
On demand hot water heater (Which I already have in my possession. Junkers, from Germany, I'll take some photo's tomorrow of the unit!)
As long as you pump water through it and heat it with propane, the water is killer hot an demand!
Not going to happen over night, but it will take me half a year... Maybe more...

I do not know anybody with the European fabrication skills that I am capable of doing, that will help me for free of charge!...

But the end result will be well worth it!

Oh, I just ordered new Coleman stoves for the inside!
(Should be here in the next week or two!)
Gonna tear into the 115V/12V/Propane fridge and see if it's knackered, salvageable, or needs to be replaced.

Remember, this was free!

I have two killer 12 volt coolers that I can always mount/install for our needs.

Had a chance to view it a couple of weeks ago and was pleasantly surprised. Good find for sure. I realize there is lots of work ahead, but Ryan will make this outstanding I am sure.
I am looking forward to see the finished results, but may be over a couple of weekends to give Ryan a hand too.
A roll up awning out side, would be awesome too!

Well, so far we have a new stove/oven combo for the tent trailer.
Next week we are picking up a new counter top.
We have a brand new Henkle "On Demand Hot Water Heater" that runs off
of Propane.
As soon as you turn on the flow of water, a propane burner fires up and heats
the water instantly!
As long as you have an ample supply of propane and water you have hot water!
A gift from family from Holland!
($!1800.00 value!)
I also have a Force 10 Kerosene furnace that doubles as a single burner stove.
That came out of my sisters and brother-in-laws sailboat (Before it sank!)
Or I have a Wabasto gasoline powered heater (Out of a VW Westfalia Van)
I haven't decided which one I'm going to use...
But I'm leaning towards the Force 10 unit.
And we also have a 5000 BTU Air Conditioner unit to keep us cool on those hot sticky nights!
Two new 25 lbs. Propane tanks.
LED side marker lights and tail lights, and interior lighting.

Jen and I are just going to use it with minimal mods and repairs this year and really dig into it this autumn/winter when we have some extra money to really start modifying it. (I spent enough on ARB Lockers, gears, tires, and other goodies over the last 4 months!)
I figure that the fall of 2011 to the spring of 2012 we will have the majority of the mods done and ready for summer 2012!

I'll be adding a lift to it as well!
I figure that the old KJ rear coil springs should suffice!

I have a Jayco 1206 much like this Ryan and I know my trailer is mounted directly to the frame, not suspension at all. I guess this would be to prevent movement one stationed for camping. So, does yours already have suspension and you're just going to upgrade or will you be adding it from scratch? Just wondering because mine is very low and it would be great if I could lift it like you're thinking so that we can pull it behind my brothers lifted pickup and my newly lifted kj!

one thing ive learned over the years as a low budget builder and member of a forum for every one of my builds... i need a better job so i can do crazy stuff like re model a camper traler with hot water and led lights and a flat screan lol... i cant w8 to see this finished!

Hey Wes,

Our tent trailer has leaf spring suspension under it.
Adding shackles to it would be the easiest to lift it.
In fact, adding an add-a-leaf leaf spring to the stock
suspension along with shackles is probably the easiest,
most economical way to lift the trailer.
That way it will be able to carry all the crap that Jen
and I always take along with us!
As far as your tent trail is concerned, snap some pictures
of it and email them to me.
It shouldn't be to difficult to add some suspension and lift
to it.

Ya, so true!
Being on a disability pension I can fully relate!
I buy parts and accessories then store them and wait until I have saved up more money so I can buy more.
It takes longer, but eventually the end result is worth it.

They work very well.
Almost all the homes in The Netherlands use them as well.
You never run out of hot water as long as you have an ample
supply of gas!
