Thanks Tom, TC and Leeann for your suggestion of the instant shudder fix treatment. I added a tube today and the shudder is a little more muted but still present. I drove it about 25 miles to make sure the ATF was all mixed around. I think this means I will need to be saving up for a new torque converter at some point in the near future. (Also, checked the level and the ATF is not low and is still a normal red color. It’s only a year old.)
I've ran the **** Guard shutter guard for over 65000 now in the 03
Took a couple of days but everything as far a shudder went away

Got to play drunk taxi with Bert last night. As part of it got to drive the wife’s bestie’s brand new grand Cherokee.

Wow. Not my taste, but it was like Bert was TOS and hers was Kelvin Timeline Enterprise.

So many little lights!

“Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.”

Well, on the plus side, perhaps this means my dream of being a witch hunter will come true!

About to change the rear upper control arm on my 05 crd. Rebuilt the front end and changed the timing belt last week. After the rear, gonna do the glow plugs and egr delete. Probably be good for another 168000 miles.

Got a very nice (and fast) email Reply from JBA Offroad today about the paint color they use. Now I can make the red on Bert match the UCAs! And likely a few other goodies I’m installing over the next week.

New battery. Went with Batteries Plus X2 Xtreme premium, (Northstar), 880CCA similar to Odyssey. This is a 34/78. Have plans for side terminals for winch power. Installed oem tow hooks.

Old battery was a SuperStart 800CCA. Almost 4 years old. Always seemed slow to crank. Charged battery just in case was weak...no difference. New battery...WOW!!! Spins right over and starts quickly. Like night and day!

Also pic of recent radio upgrade. Cheap unit off Amazon. Wanted BT. Works great!!

Almost forgot....put in new bump stops.

Tom, the torque converter shimmy is still there at 30 mph in 3rd. Would you try a second tube of Shudder Fixx or do you think I’m looking at the beginning of an expensive repair?

Feels like going over rumble strips. It is a little gentler after the Shudder Fixx was added. It only happens (so far) at the bottom end of 3rd gear, at 30 mph. If I pick my foot up or press it down, the transmission shifts, RPMs go up, torque converter disengages, and the shuddering stops. It only does it on a gradual uphill at 30 mph. So far no shudder in 4th gear at 40-45 mph when the RPMs are low.

Was able to clean off the UV damage off the front head lights with 3M head light restoration kit. They get bad every few years here in CO because of all the sunny days. At least they are clear and bright again now!
