Hum Land rover discos, always loved land rovers had 2 one an air light series 2 and a stage one V8 6X6, the stage one kept cracking its chassis and a few other problems and the light weight was just old. Loved them both. Then 4 years ago exactly I needed to get a 4X4 work car, Discos about 2005 were the right money, saw a few then my garage had one in for sale owner had died. So off to look, great looking TD5 a few extras, one or two little engine problems easy to fix, then I looked underneath, I found lots of of rust, needed new hangers inner sills, the list went on and on. So stuff that idea, Saw over other side of the yard a Jeep KJ
just had the fuel system reconditioned, builders car pulled a trailer all its life, high KM, clean enough had had a new front end so paint not quite the same match, NO RUST at all, so made offer bought it, love it to bits,
replaced suspension rubbers and a few other things spent a fair amount on it but it does not let me down, few odd little things do happen with it,
It drinks a little too much furl bit does what it says on the box, Run a fuel mix od 25% used chip oil 25% paraffin rest normal fuel. Goes well and should keep the engine cleaner the mix did in my last work van
Going to look for another very very cheap KJ for parts when I need them.

I'm afraid to drill holes in my roof like that.

Used it and the plow to move a bunch of driveway gravel around. Trying to get things cleaned up a bit before I put the plow away for the season.
Proper grommets and sealant and there’s no worries. Trick is to use a step drill. Neat, clean holes with no paint damage.

Didn’t get the chance to take pictures but changed driverside wheel hub on 03 kj. The drive feels so much tighter now. The rack pinion bushings are literally gone so that might be my next job on the 03 kj, might change rack and pinion depends how the labor is looking. Now for the 07 kj, I was doing some runs and the clutch started grinding everytime I was letting go terrible terrible sound. I’m going to rebuild the manual transmission. I’m going to get a clutch kit and drop the transmission. Any advice on the procedure and what clutch kits are recommended? Thank you

My engine skid arrived yesterday. It is not a Liberty Skid. Stupid eBay.

Leveraged a military discount and ordered a Skid Row plate instead.

Anyone have one? Are they painted or powder coated? Description isn’t clear and tons of places interchange the terms for some reason.

I learned about Side Markers today. The first one took a while, the second was easy.
