I've got a slight clunk when braking (nearly stopped). Thinking caliper may be getting iffy. Given the story above, I'll be checking my nuts (and bolts) ASAP. :gr_grin:

Rotors on mine are getting warped but though I noticed a nice black spot on my front pass rotor, when I brake firm I get a thumping. Light braking I get a steering while shake no vibrations though at highway speeds.

Oil change and engine inspection. Everything checks out. Also helped with tire switchover to summer mode on a WRX

I got 5 spark plugs replaced, and was about to start on the last,Passenger side rear, when it decided to pour down rain.

Plugs looked ok but the gaps were larger, most were around .048.

I did manage to also get to the IAC..
Carbon was found in there, spray out time with Carb cleaner.

Cleaned up a bit in the IAC, those precision q-tips work good.

Drove it. "Cleaned out some carbon", if you know what I mean. Getting about 18MPG about 70% city driving last tank. Wonder if we're back to the summer gas around here?

Took the cat to the vet in it this morning which I'm sure has traumatized him enough as it is with seeing the vet and riding in a vehicle. Two of his absolute least favorite things in the world.

Had a friend make me some rock rails. Got those lined and installed last night. (I know it's not a KJ but I like this place better than the Wrangler forums, dammit).

He actually just fabbed up a really sweet looking bumper for a Liberty not to long ago as well.

I moved the coolant reservoir away a bit to attack the last passenger side rear plug.
Removing is a lot easier with a swivel in between 2 -6" extensions.
Installation is even more fun aint it? :gr_grin:

Yep! I don't know why anyone would not just unbolt the reservoir and swing it out of the way instead of trying to wrench around it....

Heres an old timey way to start those Spark Plugs easier. Put a piece of vacuumn hose on the top of the plug. It lets you guide it into place and start the plug into the threads letting you put it in most of the way without chancing cross threading it.

Ha ha I'm an ole timer too LOL..
I have tried the vacuum hose trick on 4 inches of hose or less on bikes etc and found it finicky starting the thread with a rubber, wobbly hose.
Not sure how that would work out needing 10" of hose,to reach the thread all the way in the back and down in there.
Could add to frustration? And bad :favorites68: language?
I had no problem threading them by hand using a wobble extension.
On the threads I place some anti-seize and a quick spray of silicone lube, they glide right in.
I also use the silicone spray to recondition the coil's rubber seals, and clean the dirt out around them.
I also learned on the back plug that a long sleeve shirt prevents scratches..:gr_grin:
Changing the spark Plugs on the KJ Jeep really in not that bad compared to many other vehicles!
I just take my time and take back stretching breaks. Total time around 1 hour. :gr_grin:
