Those look horrible. It's like when I got a dishwasher. What I thought was milk glass drinkware turned out to be crystal.

What's up with Utah though, must be something in the air. My headlights are still crystal clear like new. I mean, we have nuclear plants, and crooked politicians throwing b.s. left and right, to name a couple.
I'd (almost) be expecting my lights to be oozing toxic pus by now. :happy175:

Mine are clear as can be too. I can't claim credit since I've never touched them except to upgrade the bulbs.

Utah is a semi-arid/desert climate with some decent altitude, which means higher UV exposure...lots of salt in the winter...lots of dirt in the summer...not garaged...lots of reasons our headlights get crusty. Mine were refinished in several months ago, so relatively clear, but not perfect. :)

had to stick it in the tent in place of the neon. the latter broke something. suddenly started running progressively lean as you rolled into the throttle... like 15-16+ lean and bucking like it was on drugs. not a good thing with a turbo car. hopefully I got it fixed but I need the rain to stop and everything to dry out before I can test drive it.

Moved it to mow around and under it. Looked green instead of blue from all the pollen. Hopefully some of the rain this evening has washed it off.

Just Plasti dipped the light bar now onto the other trim. Hey if anyone has a random renegade light bar cover let me know I'm missing one lol

Ordered cv joints for the driveshaft should come in next week, going to see if it will fix clicking when in 4wd, trying to get everything fixed so I can hopefully get a lift in the near future. Meanwhile plastidipped them skins, taking them baby steps.

Received my Mopar fan shroud from Avondale today. Maybe tomorrow I'll have some time to install the new fan and shroud.

Could you take a before and after picture after cutting through the shroud?
I'd like a reference when I do mine.
thanks!

Okay so only two weeks later...

Unfortunately I started cutting and then remember the request for before picts. Sorry, my bad.

So, I finally picked up some m6x1.00 bolts and washers and installed the fan in the shroud. This I'd recommend no matter what but in my case I needed it for stability as the new shroud had a perfect "cut" in the bottom. Thought it was a crack and probably is but not sure it would be possible to crack it in such a perfect fashion. Once the fan was installed it was very sturdy and not really thinking this will affect performance. I even put some Gorilla tape on the bottom just to help as I cut but normally not necessary. That side/bottom of the shroud has two "shelves" that tapper as you approach the bottom. So the pictures really just show cutting the inner most shelf off and then I tapered the cut to meet the rest of the shroud. I used a Dremel with a small cutoff wheel but most of the time I was just melting through the plastic which was fine with me. I cleaned it up a bit with a sandpaper wheel and may clean it up more with a file or hand sand it. Have a thing early this afternoon so haven't installed it yet to test but hopefully tonight. BTW the replacement fan is a cheap Dorman. I may replace it with a Mopar in the near future but those things were a bit too pricy for me at this time.

Again sorry for the lack of before pictures but I think if you look at yours it will be intuitive.

New brakes! Napa premium rotors and adaptive one pads all around.
Did the "easy-off" thing on the wheels. Worked like charm.
Continuing to find the cause for a non working cigarette lighter outlet...

Thanks for the pictures.
The thread holding my clutch fan was cross thread and is a real pain to remove so I'm going to attempt to cut the shroud while it's still on the jeep.

Did you just cut 'A' only or 'B' as well? Thanks

The cuts don't need to be very big at all - no more than 3/4" deep from the edge and only slightly wider than the diameter of the fan.

When the shroud is lifted up and out of the engine bay you're able to tilt it in such a way that it will slide right past the fan - so cutting too much of the shroud only weakens the shroud and reduces the efficiency of the fans.

Cut just a little bit at first and if it's not enough cut just a little more. Nothing worse than realizing you've cut too much - cuz ya' can't put it back

P.S. I can't tell by the pic above. Was the trimming done on the top, bottom or side of the shroud?

Yes, you can use brake cleaner in the diff. Helps get rid of any oil sludge out and metal shavings that may be on the magnet at the bottom of the differential.

Used mine for a major recovery today. Got too close to the edge, errrr, I mean the front wheels slid, yeah that's what happened, the front wheels slid on the damp grass. Went over the edge and hung up on the mower deck. Couldn't get traction with just the tractor, so I yanked it out with the Jeep.
