Mine got coated with gloss black rustoleum 2 weeks after i bought it new in 04. Every fall, every spring it gets about 4 to 6 cans more sprayed on underneath. Keeps it clean, rust free, and can find leaks etc if there ever is any.

I usually do the bed liner in a spray can then a coat of gloss black over it. Seems to work pretty good.

A clean Prep area for paint is needed. Mud & bug be gone by power washing! :icon_lol:
Now rusted areas probably need a grinder or hand sanding.
I hand sanded much of this and used TremClad rust paint x 3 cans.

I spray some simple green on there and hose it down. Use those sanding sponges where it's needed. Then get a spray mask on and start spraying.

Went to the basement at work to search for the biggest shackle we got ha ha.
The little one is your standard 1/2" shackle think it was a 2 ton the big one is rated for 50 ton.

I feel yea uss2defiant we are going on 15years old in a few years its one thing after another. I am waiting for the other to pop up.

thank goodness it was just a bad coil.
Thankfully a LAP is a few blocks down the street that I can cycle to.

Back to installing speakers. Driver's side front is in, cable is run for the passenger side, just need to get that stupid accordian thing back on the plastic clippy thing...

Those are, I believe, the technical terms.
