Even though a year ago I installed new Monroe 90152 rear glass lift supports, it was opening slowly in the cold again.
Turns out the one on the left side was super weak.
I got a new AVS #4365 to replace the weak one & now hatch glass is flying open smoothly again!
They don't make stuff like they use to.:emotions34:

With the cold rain & fog here, I noticed today I got 2 defrost lines on the rear glass out, just up from bottom lines.

At least the new lift shock completely works.
I bet lots of members also have defroster lines broken or not working at all.

Don't use the wiper but do use the defrost. I always forget the wiper is back there.

First week after I bought the 04 the rear wiper came off
Still have it, virgin arm and blade , never used
I hardly ever look out of the back window,
was taught to drive with the side mirrors,
plus after driving " big trucks" where you had to use the sides thats just all I use.
Reminds me have to remove the one on the 03

No big trucks for me but I drove a pickup with a cap for a long time. Rear view mirror was pretty much useless so I use side mirrors most of the time in anything I'm driving. Just remembered that the rear defrost activates the heated mirrors in mine too. I always scrap them off since I forget about that too.

I may be an oddball but I use the rear wiper and rear defrost all the time. Can't stand not being able to see all around me - even have those little convex mirrors stuck on the side mirrors on the KJ. Did that after driving my wife's new Fusion on a couple of trips and got real used to that type of mirror-on-mirror on hers so thought, why not put the same thing on the Jeep?

Maybe I'm just nosy but I want to see everything that's going on around me... :icon_twisted:

Do you get that much build up on the rear glass Bob?
I never noticed on the 04 , except right on the area of the tire with the RL on
Of course I always wax my back glass about once a month so maybe that helps

Yea, I get a lot of mist on the back window in the rain. And in winter the snow clings to it so it's completely blocked. Maybe a Mudd rear bumper will change the airflow so I don't have the problem in the future...? :party52:

Was loosing some coolant.
Pressure tested the system this morning.
Found that I had to tighten the hose clamp by the upper rad. hose by the bleed screw.

Filled it up with cheap gas (under $2/gal) and drove to the gun show. My husband and I got custom in-ear hearing protection done.

Damn, those things are amazing - and comfortable.

Not Jeep related, but I stopped in a town about 12mi away where gas is always couple cents cheaper than home town. Problem was, I was in Premium Fuel Only Silverado SS. Buggers wanted .80 per gallon more for premium!!!!!!!. Went back inside, got my cash and came on home where premium is .30 more per gallon than regular.

About two hours of shear enjoyment and many words I forgot I knew. Now hopefully I can get it back together and everything will work. New part is in transit. Old one looks pretty good. Guess the motor is fried. Need to figure out how to bench test it.

Figured out the bench test of the actuator motor. Just a 9 volt battery and it will spin. Switch the polarity and it spins the other way... but only sometimes in one direction. Guess that's my problem.

Checked the oil this morning and noticed the serpentine belt was frayed. That happened pretty quick. I was under the hood last weekend and everything looked good. Oh well.
Installed new tensioner and new belt now we're good to go. Took all of 10 minutes.

Did new front brake hoses. Also need to do rear rotors, and pads and as long I'm in there, all new park brakes.
