well, the vast majority of the hippy hippy shakes are gone. think the remainder is the tires are trashed. going to re-do my ghetto alignment, get the steering wheel straight, then toss on another pair on the front. pretty much the only reason i'm still with this thing is the money invested in tires and other parts. plus it gave me an excuse to buy a tool set i've been wanting for a while (ball joint and bushing press out kit.)

Came home this morning after doing some work for a company over night. About half asleep I thought before I go to bed I'll wax part of the Jeep.
After covering the hood with a nice coat, looked down at the bottle, whoops, :favorites68::favorites68:, yep leather conditioner .....................should of went to bed first this morning instead of trying to do anything !!:gr_grin::happy175:

So clay bar, more wax, etc this afternoon after I woke up......

got it back from Mechanic from its safety certification... here's the list
Left upper ball joint (what a PIA, especially the rear mount, the front one needed the brake line removed, put back on right away till ball joint is in tomorrow morning)
right rear passenger seat belt not closing (fixed)
blower motor resistor (fixed)
battery not clamped down properly (fixed)
driver window binding in front guide going up (fixed, a little spray of Fluid film)
E-brake not grabbing enough, will try back up and pulling lever a few times tomorrow.

Gonna have to wait till Tuesday to bring it back in for the certification as its thanksgiving long weekend.

can't wait to go for a ride in the trails and do some bush chicken hunting!

Just curious, but why do they care about your blower motor resistor? I can see the other stuff as safety-related, but... :Insane:

agreed... I argued it, it worked on 3 and 4, just not 1 and 2, the law states that you must have a working blower motor for the defrost, well mine was working its only my inconvenience that I did not have lower setting.

Forgot to mention that my drivers side window would roll down great, but was sticking on the front rail causing it to bind on the way up, they also claimed the vehicle "un fit" because of that, I argued that the window is an emergence exit, and must roll down, its only my inconvenience to be getting wet in the rain. MTO (ministry of transportation Ontario) have been cracking down on mechanics for letting small stuff slide, I know guys that have lost their mechanics licence for a period of time.

To keep the KJ engine alive,I had to add 3/4 of a quart of oil today, to bring it up to the full line.
I did notice some blue smoke coming out the tailpipe a while back, up a steep hill.
I guess the engine is burning a bit when "hot"..:emotions34:
Here is an "interesting" version of staying alive!

Installed some LED reverse light bulbs today.. possibly the brightest bulbs you can get for the KJ?

Not the best pictures as I'm at the end of my driveway, but having very dark tinted windows these will definitely come in handy!
Now I won't need to find somewhere to mount LED pods

part numbers and links, please.

Well any 3157 bulb will fit, but mine are from here:
https://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B00MC6H0AI/ref=yo_ii_img?ie=UTF8&psc=1
Direct plug and play, took me all of two minutes to put them in (this includes the time to remove each housing) but make sure to check them before you put it all back together because the polarity matters with these
They have much farther spread that I couldn't get being where I was but I'll try to get another shot of them sometime to show you guys

My new pair of 4" 9 LED spot lights came in yesterday. Spent today planning out how to hook them up and set up a switch panel.

I started it lol she's been out of commission for 2 weeks for repairs.

looks like the new oil sender unit not only held but fixed the oil light so far after letting her run an idle for about eight minutes!
