Could be a cv. I'd check front axels. If not that maybe transfer case side cv of front drive shaft. When in 4wd there is stress on one of them so when you go back to 2wd they're unloaded.

Check to see if your transfer case cable slipped from the retainer clip and is rubbung on the front shaft. If so, slip it back into position and tie wrap it secure. That would probably be your best case scenerio of potential issue.

I'll give that a look. Seemed to engage and disengage properly though

Rules that out then. My heart dropped when my cable retainer ran away and the grinding started in my case. Glad it was only a rub though.

Brought it in early to get my outer tie rod replaced and a alignment. (I was unable to get it removed with my little propane torch and I needed my jeep back). So far the guys are Donovans alignment Inc in waltham have been awesome. We shall see when I get the bill if I still think that.

Head unit swap for a new Pioneer AVH-5800 BHS. Installed an overhead Mic for hands free, Sirius 300 tuner adapter for Satellite radio, antenae adapter for HD radio, and installed a night vision backup camera below the spare to tie the whole system together. Now have both phones and iPOD all connected automatically via Bluetooth. Loving Life!
