What did you do to your jeep today?

threw more parts at it in the hopes of fixing the p0304.

initially I figured it was a bad coil so I replaced it when I did the plugs, jeep ran fine for a short while it seemed and then the misfire returned, replaced the ASD relay and still have the misfire at idle. i ordered new injectors/o-rings and i am hoping that will solve the issue.
probably going tho do a fuel pressure test today and possibly a compression test tonight.

I have 3 hills, very steep and long that look more like black diamond ski trails than roads going up and down with snow on them

They're amazing in snow/ice. I think I only used 4WD maybe 5 times this winter...and only because I wanted to, didn't need to. The Terras were excellent in snow, but these are even better than that. The local ski hill parking lot is notoriously icy, usually had to shift into 4 full to back out of a parking spot, but with these they just go, no issue at all.

I honestly think the only better tire in the snow would be a snow tire, and even then, I don't even know if you'd see a difference. The only complaint I have about them is they're not any quieter than the Terras. Not any louder and still quiet overall, they just have some hum in the 30-40MPH range, but they're very quiet above that. Very smooth riding too. And they like to be rotated about every 3-4k, they speak up a bit when they wanna be moved. :happy175:

going to go home in an hour and replace all 6 injectors, crankshaft position senor, and the camshaft position sensor. with the hope that one of those things is what is causing my cylinder 4 misfire... if none of that solves the issue, i will be driving to the dealership and hopefully they can identify the problem.

And all that seems to be for absolutely nothing.

New injectors, cam sensor, crank sensor, new coil on #4, new ngk copper plugs gapped to .040", new throttle position sensor, and still getting a misfire on cylinder #4.

I think the only things left could be cats, pcm, fuel pump, valve springs, or valve seats.

Anyone have any input?

Help every time I try and get gas it overflows I’ve tried to pump as slow as possible.the only way a can get it to take gas is to repeatedly tap the gas plz help

You can also use the forum search feature and look for "fuel burp" to see other threads relating to this. Very common problem.

In my case, I add some Marvel Mystery Oil right before I fill up. It is supposed to be good for the engine, gas line, etc., but in my case I think it lubricates the one-way valve referenced in the thread I linked to above so it doesn't stick open.

Can't remember where I got this info, but it seems to work for me. Ethanol makes the valve swell that causes the burp. I fill up with ethanol free and haven't had a puke in quite some time.

I wish I could find it around here. Only place I've seen it in the past few years is down at a local marina. I used to use it and it did seem to help. The Jeep ran better, too...

I'm lucky enough to have a station around the corner from me. I think there's a website, pure gas or something like that. It'll tell you where to find them.

So my random overnight coolant puke fest strikes again.
New mopar rad and hoses and clamps.
Upper hose and lower hose both removed and even slapped some sauce on em (right stuff rtv)
Even the t stat and houseing is new.
So Tom said check the housing. Went to take it and the bottom stripped out (badly rusted should’ve replaced sooner)

Once the mopar bolt comes in I think this will be the first time the jeep sees a repair shop. I’m exhausted with 2 KJs lol

Update. Laying on the ground taking the picture looking up - you can see it might be the damn hose again.
The coolant pools at the bottom, rounded and rusted bolt, dripping to the ground. This lead me to believe there was a poor seal between the housing and engine.
Maybe that’s not the case

Another new clamp. This time used a 8mm socket and ratchet to tighten it more then you should.

Have replaced 3 housings where it was leaking there, always same place on 3 different KJs , one on my 03 and 2 on customers
I keep a spare housing around now with new thermostat just due to that ( Mopar of course )

Also use the stock style spring clamps instead of worm drive. They'll expand and contract with heat and always maintain a seal. Worm drive can stretch or bite into hose because they won't expand.

My mechanic wouldn't give me mine back, b/c I guess he seemed insulted that I wanted them, like I doubted his work. I snuck back after closing and pulled them from the dumpster and have since hit them with rust reformer and they are in my emergency tote in the trunk, in case I'll ever need them.

The factory clamps may or may not work with aftermarket hoses. These will.

Got a pretty good price and from reviews should do pretty well ( I hope )
But then I'll only run them 40,000-50,000 miles or so , no time at all :gr_grin:
Nothing like the Duratracs that went over 90,000 :icon_razz:

I’ll be completely honest when I say I never had the problems with other vehicles that I do with my jeeps. So to me , a hose clamp was always just that - a hose clamp.
The jeep apparently needs everything perfect before it can cruise you along at 13MPG again.
