What did you do to your jeep today?

How do you like it compared to the MED ones? I heard you get a little more flex off road with the MED springs upfront but not as much lift compared to HD.... I have the HD on mine but curious what you think:icon_question:

Finally got out to try the HD coils off road(switched from Mediums).
The ride is firmer than the med's,but more comfortable,less roll,it sits a little higher.

And I got new Monroe quick struts and Moog rear springs and Monroe shocks for the 06 Renegade.(DD)
Price matched Napa price at Canadian Tire, saved $50 and got $50(10%) CT money.Plus the CT money for the purchase.
That's better than their BOGO 1/2 off sale.
On the way back drivers side rear caliper started sticking,there goes my savings. :nutkick:

Got rear ended sitting at a stop light. ....... Again. The Lady yelled at me and said what were you doing I said waiting for the red light she then said why didn't you hit the car in front of you I said I left a safe distance unlike you. She then said I don't have time for this and got caught for leaving the scene of an accident.

Don't know it happen in front of the police station . I pulled in to report it and she was escorted in. She yelled at me and said nothings wrong with you car I don't see any damage I said your nuts the tire carrier is bent the spare tire is damaged and the swing gate is caved in. the officer said HOLD IT lady you rear ended him it's your fault and I see the damage. So he gave me the incident # said you can go and they kept her and impounded her van. So I went to leave ane the officer said wait they need you out front your daughter just rear ended an Escort in your 03 Liberty (son of a &$#!/?.)

Got my brakes all back together. New custom made rubber lines in and bent the hard lines and mounted them securely. One more thing off the list.

The rear ending sounds familar, I just had mine done and it cost their insurance $1500. Bubbles around the brakelight fixed at the same time for free.

Michigan is a no fault state my insurance has to pay to fix my vehicle they just wave the deductible. She will have to pay her deductible.

So, I fitted my ebay bought mopar security wheel nuts and replaced the parking brake shoes today and got the mechanisms loosened off.

Had a nightmare with the parking brake lever, the ratchet was too far around to reconnect. Managed to spin it all the way around with disconnecting the springs and bending one of the metal tabs out the way. Couldnt find any other way to do it.
Its all good now.
(Apart from a damp looking axle seal on the 1 side)

Typical anymore, nobody wants to take any responsibilities for their own actions. Working in retail reminds me of that on a daily basis. Not entirely related but reminds me a bit of when I got rear-ended in my Focus, of course what saved me from getting totaled was I didn't have full pressure on my brakes so I was launched a few feet before my body reacted causing me to brake completely to stop. The Ram behind me had its front end smashed to pieces all I got was a new rear bumper and a new blend paint job. Now here's the comical part, the couple that smashed into me, just had their Van in the body shop two weeks earlier because they rear-ended somebody else. Same thing Iowa is no fault state, it was raining and I'll bet they were speeding some and realized the light was red tried to brake and skidded into me because I could hear them coming up on me, looked in my rear view mirror and just said ''Ahh $hi1'' just before they hit. They paid and I didn't of course I don't deal with body shops anymore because it doesn't take nearly two weeks to put on a bumper.

Probably won't even be possible. The brake lines would be the biggest roadblock. I looked through dozens of brake hardware catalogs and couldn't find any banjo fittings for the calipers that would work other than the stock ones. So I cut the hose fittings off the stock ones, drilled out the holes a little bigger, and silver soldered in new hose fittings. I did the same with the block that mounts to the subframe. Technically I could do it again, but it would involve a 3 hour drive to Minneapolis. I'm not completely done making my front frame brackets (hope to finish them up Tuesday at work). And I have to finish them before I can even measure for the control arms. But judging from the short distance between the two mounting points, I'm most likely going to have to make them custom also. So it may be possible if I say figuring the brake lines out is up to them haha. But at this point with all I've been through, it might be a better idea to just go with the JBA setup. I enjoy fabrication and building things myself, but I'm guessing the majority wouldn't want to take on this task. It's a lot of work even if I were to build everything for them (however my judgement may be clouded because I did a lot of extra work while I was at it).

On another note, I have to buy new shocks also. One of the rears is blown already.

Ended up being a terrific little dirt road I've never been on before that took us up and over a mountain to the highway home. One more road to come back and explore a bit more!

Dropped my transmission/transfer case/front driveshaft/rear driveshaft/crossmember/exhaust crossover pipe in preparation for replacing my clutch. Clutch itself wasn't bad, the pilot bearing disintegrated. I liked the good old days when we used bushings that didn't self destruct to pieces and throw needles all over to mark up the input shaft. Hunted down a different bearing with the same ID/OD specs, but longer than the stock replacement so it will span the gouge the old bearing left on the shaft. Careful depth measurements to follow.
