Why do I keep getting unsubscribed from threads?

Anyway, I have taken to staring STARTING my Jeep every day and the battery is holding on. Getting ready to hit 98,000 miles.

Been using it to haul trees and shrubs all week.

Yes, with its big sweet round green eyes. :confused:

I bought a new keyboard a month or so ago and it is a wee bit smaller than I am used to... :rolleyes:

And people/customers get all "wtf" eyes at me when I tell them, YOU go pick the keyboard (and mouse) you want for your computer.

05 has been sitting too much, 5 years of ownership and only put about 28-30,000 miles on it
So been driving it to work this week, started it this evening only to hear a wee bit louder sound, looked underneath, dang muffler is leaking ( well rusted through ) at the seams

Took the little lip thing off the front bumper because it's ugly, asks to get ripped off eventually, and most importantly makes changing the oil filter more of a pain than it should be.

Oh and drained a half quart out of the pan because it seemed overfilled to me. Whoever changed the oil before I bought it put too much oil in it. Although the accuracy of the dipstick seems to be a contested issue from my reading of the forum but now it's at the full line and the engine still sounds smooth I'm gonna leave it as is until I actually change the oil.

forced day off so I'll probably check on the Libby now that I am not driving it everyday. I know it is a newbie question but when is the best time to check the oil? I have read everything from cold engine, warmed for 5 minutes, full temp, etc. Thanks in advance.

I like the lazy method. Check it cold; if it's OK the stick can go right back in without being wiped off.

I Like the owner's Manual..Cold Before starting, or Hot check after shut off for 5 Min.
You must be registered for see images attach

The cold check shows oil level before expansion. Hot check is what I prefer.

Been checking mine and the ones I work on cold for years , well actually my Dad ( he did teach me one thing I guess before he........) taught me when I was 5 or 6

Replaced my cam position sensor today. Have had a pretty steady leak on the passenger side of the engine. Thought it was the valve covers but ultimately traced it to the cam sensor. The o-ring in it was dead a long time ago. It basically fell out of the head once I had the bolt loose. I'm surprised it wasn't leaking even worse than it was. See for yourself:

Just got some renegade fenders flares for my 03 yesterday only paid 80 for them so not bad..now just to trim them how I want them and paint to match and should look good...maybe a bit of 4wheelin tomorrow

Cool...nice that you have found the problem.
I am finding that various O rings on my old 2002 Export Diesel are starting to fade away.

I now carry with me set of various size O rings with me in the Jeep...a Chinese set in a plastic container....seem to do the job but time will tell.o_O

I recently used the kit to replace the O ring under the MAP sensor which I could see was leaking...no chance of getting that O ring from the Dealers but Auto Spare shops sometimes carry various O rings which may also be of dubious origin.;)

Still a good idea to keep a set of spares on you! I'm coming to find that there are a lot of things for the KJ that are getting increasingly harder to find. Not only is it old but it seems to be a model that has been kind of forgotten for some reason.

Drove it 120 miles on another supply run yesterday. Discovered that if I keep the ESC on the WK2 in "Sport" mode I average 24.4 miles per gallon. Which is about 2 mpg higher than when it is running in "Auto" (both measurements are highway rating with summer blend fuel)

Also took a stone the size of red potato you the windshield. Scared the crap out of me, but amazingly didn't even chip the windshield.
