What did you do to your jeep today?

How about a trip to a real hardware store and mosey thru that aisle with the sliding trays that have every fastener or doodad known? I am thinking specifically of the 'spring washers' that are really thin and remind me of a pringle potato chip

Yessir We call that one here “hectors hardware”
Funny thing about that place - it’s old school. Meaning. You’re supposed to write down everything you grabbed before you take it to the counter. Found out the hard way 11 years ago when I was switching everything under the hood to stainless

The front ones I got hit on the passenger side about 2yrs ago and it cracked the flare..so I took the other off so it would match while I bought new ones and never got around to it..the backs I cracked the passenger side one last year ,I was on a hard angle going up an incline..so I bought a set of the renegade ones and just got around to putting them on..still have to paint to match

Side of a canyon ripped the back one off angle I had going up was tough,flares shredded against the rock wall,thought I said that..oops I didnt I stopped at steep angle... tires had nothing to do with it

Changed the oil. Usually go with Mobile 1 Full Synthetic 5W-30 but changed this time to Mobile 1 Advanced Fuel Economy 0W-30;. Yeah it may be a marketing gimmick, time will tell I guess and I think the Jeep 6 will forgive me LOL. It was the same price as regular Mobile 1 Full Synthetic and meets warranty protection requirements ... although my Jeep warranty expired about 15 or so years ago ... I think.

Also removed the plastic deflector in front of the air box tube. Maybe it blocked rain or something, dunno, but I do know it disrupted air flow. I swear I can feel better throttle response without it. I'm hanging onto it in case I need to put it back on but doubt that will happen.

Marketing gimmick for sure

All 3 of mine have a 3 inch hose running out to the grill for extra airflow
You can hold your hand over it and rev up the motor and feel it sucking
runs right back into the airbox under the regular air intake

Parked a big toolbox in front of it. Sorting tools is as confounding as sorting books.

On the plus side I moved the sheetrock it's been holding up so well for so long.

I'm in Montana on vacation and yesterday, my GPS took me on a road that probably hasn't seen anything bigger than a side by side in years, wasn't in the Jeep though. That would have been more fun, I was in my Yukon XL 3/4 ton. It was a little tight and rough.

Got after some light brush marks on the passenger side of the Liberty with mixed results. It didn't actually get rid of the scratches but did great on swirl marks and light paint oxidation and blended the scratches in. I'm happy with it but would have to bring out the heavy to get the scratches completely out. Not going to happen. It is what it is. Still doesn't look bad for a 17 year old.

Only help for mine is MAACO at this point. Between the clear coat coming off and the random red paint fade. But on the bright side, it kinda gives it character ‍

Ha, yeah the clear coat is just starting to get tiny bubbles in a few spots on mine as well. Wondering how long it will be before it decides to come off more

There is no clear coat on the roof which doesn't bother me, cuz I rarely see it. The hood however is losing it's clear coat too. I tried to get ahead of it with hood vents and then vinyl stickers, but was too late. So now I'm planning to rattle can it like a jerk with wheel paint for it's durability.
