Went to wreckers picked up a new coolant tank, $15 is worth the gamble. I checked the vin ahead of time and found the liberty next to it came with full skids and the hooks. Picked them all up for a cool $60. Left fuel tank skid since I already had it.

bought it today for $950.
had AAA deliver it to an undisclosed location.
It's not in pristine shape (needs a bath), tires are from 2019 and showing some checking, windshield is cracked the whole width, and both batteries (high and low voltage) are dead.
it's perfect for me!
just ordered a level 1+2 charger for it off amazon, so I can return it if it's all fubar.
just found some official fiat training docs on the HV system.
there's techniques for "recovering" the HV battery. some involve dropping the pack. others... I think there's a way to get it charged enough to let the on board system finish and re-balance the packs.

goal/budget is to be into it for $3k or less. that includes a new windshield and new tires. it's not even remotely close to the spec I really want, but if I can keep it in budget, I could drive it for a while and put it up for sale for like $6k and flip it pretty quick.

I would be tempted at that price.

I finally got around to fixing my O2 sensor heater circuit. Found pin to be pushed half out
I have one of these to fix on my 08. The sensor’s heater circuit is high, and independently testing it with my multimeter confirms it’s toast. I have a replacement ready to go in but am a bit nervous about attempting the repair because last time I stripped an O2 sensor completely and it would not budge. I ended up paying a shop more money to get it out than I would have if I had just brought it to them in the first place. Did yours require a torch or other extreme measures to remove? I have a socket with a slot that fits over the pigtail and I have a metal hose clamp to go around it to hopefully prevent it from rounding off the “nut” on the sensor this time. Looking for a little encouragement, if it’s warranted…

wife wants one in smooth mint, and I want a red Abarth in stick. :D
My daughter wants a mint green one for her first car.
I knew a guy with an Arbarth, it was a flying machine.

it astonishes me how HARD it is to find the Verde Chiaro (Smooth Mint, Light Green) colored ones for sale. they're really rare! I know this because... the wife wants one! :D
