Who Has The Oldest Liberty Here?

I think my 02 was a Nov 2001 build. Wish I kept that one. The 05 just didn't feel the same to me.

What did you do to your jeep today?

Changed to oil... What was in it before? ;) Lots of people don't pull the window stickers from the lube place. Hope that's the case here.

    2006 Jeep Liberty 3.7

Yeah, that's about 150k. That's about when I had a few weak ones in my 02. Actually had the #2 exhaust fall of twice. The second time I replaced several of the lifter/lash adjuster on that side and no more problems.

    Coolant leak behind timing cover.

I used the Fel Pro TCS46022 set twice in my 02 and never had an issue. Headgasket replacement the first time and crank and bearings a 4-5 years later. Sounds like something is not mating correctly. Mahle are good gaskets too. I'd give them a try one more time. Just used an upper engine set in my...

What did you do to your jeep today?

I thought you had to swing the AC comp out of the way (or remove the clutch and pulley) and use an 82.5" belt.

    Pcv & excessive oil

My 02 did not. Breathers ran into the big resonator box sitting in front of the TB.

    Pcv & excessive oil

Not sure 03s had a sponge bob. My 02 did not. Might have started in 04.

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

I'm pretty sure that was it. They were a bit better once I started throwing some weight in the bed but still got interesting on wet roads. I had them in mud and snow and they were decent but wet pave was a challenge.

How Often do I change oil?

just remember that, no matter what OCI you choose, make sure you check your oil every few hundred miles you drive. The greatest oil in the world won't help if you run it low! I go 3-5k no matter what level of oil I use.

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

Agreed on the wear out rate for the Michelins. Had two sets in the past and although great tires in a variety of "stuff" the last set were gone too fast for the price. One set on my 02 KJ lasted well past their rated treadlife but my Ranger subsequently ate a set way too quickly. I'm not in a...

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

That's the only set of them I ever had but thought it was just my light ass Ranger causing the lack of traction. I had other Firestones that were pretty good. I managed to get 50k out of them but would NOT get another set. Like I said, they looked good but not good on traction. I've had good...

    Kumho Road Venture AT51

Good endorsements. I need to replace my Firestone Destination ATs on my Ranger and the Kumho popped up. Not a great fan of the Firestones. They looked good but seemed a bit wonky in my light pickup especially in their current state. Got over 50k on them so I guess they passed their treadlife...

Are there any 3.7 V6 engines that would fit in a 03 Liberty that don't use HOAT?

My 2011 Avenger takes HOAT as does my dad's 2010 Dodge minivan. These of course would not fit in the liberty but they are of the 2010 vintage. I would say no.
