Just checked my rear control arms and they look in great shape - When snow is forcasted nowadays they dump tons of the snow melt on the roads before the snow comes, the last couple of storms never came and I can shovel the stuff they left behind.
I have an 04 with 100k and 5 speed , It runs better than new- uses no oil, just removed the rustys lift and replaced w/ome springs and shocks, now it even drives like a dream.
It's not just cars and trucks they rate with bias, but anything Sony a few years back was always rated high, I bought many products early on from their suggestions and was burned with the junk I purchased.
I've been towing my 3600 pound pop-up camper for the past 3 years without any issues, I've always been a manual transmission fan for everything except extreme 4 wheelin. My liberty is a 2004 5 speed 3.7
The pressure in the system when the compressor's not running doesn't mean anything - it'll all work doing it without running a vacuum pump- it just won't be as cold and may end up freezing at the internal metering valve.
It will continue to click on and off until it's fully charged - I sometimes jumper the low psi switch when charging.
Be aware that the correct way is to weight the charge when re-charging and only after running a vacuum pump for at least one hour to remove any non-condensibles.
I didn't read all the posts but the only things I wish the KJ had Is a RECIRC. button and maybe a bigger glove compartment otherwise it's been the best vehicle I've owned hands down.
I also own a rav4 and really it's a car compared to the Jeep, If I try and tow my camper with the rav4 I'm...
Both suction & discharge ports are different sizes you you can't mix them up, Way back in the 70's they were both the same size.
I'm not sure what pressure the switch closes at - but somewhere in the 20 to 30 lb range.
Just remember - If you need to add refrigerant there must be a leak somewhere, I use an electronic leak detector, First place to look is at the compressor shaft seal.
I believe SP 10 is the correct type of oil but the viscocity is pag46, From the few liberty's I/ve worked on the pag46 was what was recommended from both sanden and aftermarket unit's.
Just checked again and found the Liberty does take PAG 46 while many other Mopars take PAG 100.
I would also make sure you run a vacuum pump on the system and purge the charging hose before charging to make sure no - non condensables get into the system.
I work as a HVAC tech. so I have...
All compressor oil is not the same, The KJ takes pag 46 oil, The correct way to know how much oil to add is to measure what was drained from your old compressor and then add that amount.
A little to much wont' hurt the system.
When I took mine in I mentioned the TSB, They didn't want to see it, They did all the tests and found more cylinder misfire's than I had and changed the intake valves and lapped the seats on the heads.
The dealer who did all the work is a very high volume dealership here in CT.
