I just bought myself a very used 2004 Liberty, which had shocks that were good and shot. I did a little looking around on the forum and the latest thread that I found was quite a bit old so I decided to post some updated information on part numbers, cost and where to buy.
I picked up my replacement shocks at Rock Auto, which just happens to be a forum sponsor. They also have a discount code that you can use, which expires after a few months. Just do a search for their discount code and you will find the latest thread that they have posted with that information.
To keep down on reading, I made some videos. I just bought this car the other day and it is going to take a LOT of cleaning to make it look presentable so pardon the carnage. Let's start with the hood first.

Now for the hood, the shocks I purchased were around $13. Attaching them to the car was relatively simple. All you had to do was SLIGHTLY open the clip at each end of the shock and then press it directly on the knuckle attached to the car. If you remove ONE of yours, it makes it easier to understand how to put the replacement on on the car. Here are a few pictures that will help. I don't know what years actually use these part numbers so maybe someone will chime in and let us all know.
Part Number:

This is the way your shock end will look when you take it out of it's packaging:
you need to use a small, flat-head screwdriver to gently, CAREFULLY and patiently RAISE that clip up off the end of the shock so that it looks like this:
If you aren't careful, you'll pull the clip off too far and it will go flying off somewhere so don't be THAT guy. :favorites68:
Here are my final results:

The rear shocks go on the same way. They are a DIFFERENT part number so don't buy the wrong part.
Part Number:

And the before and after results. BEFORE:

AFTER:

I hope this helps someone!:icon_razz:
