Been running a full OME lift for roughly 11k miles and just recently started noticing a horrible sound from coming from the passenger side front. It begins wobbling/vibrating intensely around 60mph but doesn't occur 100% of the time. When coasting to a stop sometimes you can hear what sounds to be a bent wheel/cupped tire but I swapped for the spare with no result. This is more of a thud every turn of the wheel almost like something is loose. Could it be a bad wheel bearing?

It's always vibrated more at high speeds since I lifted/tires but never this bad. It's only been light off-road mainly on the beach. How should I troubleshoot?

2005 with 66k miles

Thanks

it doesnt shake going around corners which leads me to believe its not the CV but I will check. it's really just on the highway at high speeds 60+mph i get the wobble/vibrations or when coasting to a stop around 40mph i get the reoccuring thud sound

Check CV/Intermediate shaft
splines can get worn down and cause issues like this

This seems to be getting asked a lot lately. Having gone through this same thing, I'll put money on it being your intermediate shaft. Mine didn't shake around corners either, it was worse when going straight. At 66k miles it's kinda early for the shaft to wear out, but a lift puts more strain on it and the CV joints. Post #4 shows mine: Worn Intermediate Shaft

No more questions on it lately than there has been in the last 9 years.
Wear item, doesn't matter if lifted or not, they also rust up in there so that contributes to it as well . So if driven little, sitting around a lot, its rusts up, start driving again it starts wearing more
Lifts do cause a little more wear to parts, but also heavier wheels/tires etc as well
My left side CV made it through 172,000 miles being lifted to pretty well the max height, ( over 190,000 on the KJ) . First Intermediate shaft made it over 120,000 miles lifted and was only starting to go bad. I just pulled it out to check it like I do from time to time

Eric hasn't been around for 1.5-2 years or so now with that company
IF,....it is the intermediate shaft then yes replace the CV as well
If it is that it will just keep getting worse and making more noise.
CV, rebuilt from NAPA of course

Have you had it up in the air yet to double check the wheel bearings/ loose parts / front driveshaft

been through this, almost exact same symptoms. I would bet a 6 pack ofLeinenkugel Orange Shandy that it is the right CV and intermediate shaft. Fixed mine in December, replaced both left and right and intermediate. Napa remans for the CV assemblies about $56 each, and an intermediate shaft from autmotivepartsunlt on ebay, $106.25 plus shipping. do your axle seals too. Lots of good info on how to do it on jeepkj.com. I drove mine with the noise getting progressively worse for 6 months. It is a time bomb, I hear when then let go it gets ugly. Get your parts and order the shaft, then I would do it soon.

PS, mine was actually silent in turns, only made noise going straight, and the thumping noise started at 40mph. The groaning noise was at slow speed.
