KJ 2006 3.7L Engine Temperature Slightly Low

Hi, my Liberty 3.7L 2006 engine temperature gauge is always slightly lower than middle. Any suggestions on possible causes?

Check the temp with a scanner, the gauge on the dash can't always be trusted

Nope. I thought that the thermostat will either be stuck open or close. Could the thermostat cause this? Picture attached.

I don’t see a problem there.

Those are not the most accurate gages. I have an IR temp gun that I use when I want to know for real. Has a lot of uses. Block temp. Rotor temp - when you are looking for a caliper that hangs up once in a while.

Thanks for the advise, I assumed the gauge is very accurate. I'll measure get an IR temp gun and also verify real temp with diagnostic tool.

Mine sits in the center but I've got a CRD with the 88°C thermostat.

Same here never varies except when I am hauling a heavy load even then only goes slightly higher
