$123.60 - Down the drain! (Yes, I ordered the lug nuts...)

From now on, instead of describing something crazy by saying "That's nuts" I am going to say "That's Lug Nuts!!!"

And as for you, TC, once they pack me off to the poor house I do hope you'll at least come and visit me once in a while. I BLAME YOU FOR THIS!

EDIT - And wouldn't you know it, but this is my 5,000th post here. That's just lug nuts, man!!!

I could just buy them all now. It's the overall cost that is the hangup. $120 for lug nuts? My first car cost $300 and it ran for two years without needing any repairs!

Still running stock ones on all of mine, still in great shape . you been out in the garage chewing on them again ????

Actually, several of the lug nuts got chewed up when I bought new tires a couple years ago. Wasn't really obvious until I went to rotate them several months later.

That's why no one bolts new tires on any of mine , I do it only trust them to mount the tires on the wheels, then I even hold my breath LOL

I do all my own tire rotations and use a torque wrench. I know for a fact that when a shop does something those suckers always end up way over-torqued. I am no weakling and when I have to put all my might into removing a lug nut then something is wrong.

Finally finished with all fluid changes in my Export 2002 CRD...just hit 190,000 Kms over 18 years!

Did the two diffs a while back....added the Friction Modifier for the rear Trac Loc diff.

Have now replaced the engine oil and filter, gearbox oil, transfer case fluid and drained and replaced cooling water with correct Mopar Hoat mix.

When I went to the Agents for gearbox oil they had the Mopar oil in one Quart bottles. Fine I said I'll take two bottles! The Agents then said they could not sell me 2 Bottles...I would need to buy 12 bottles from them!!! They could not explain this to me....it was what their system told them.
The Service Manager joined the conversation and told me to put ATF +4 in the gearbox.....that is what they use for all their manual transmission oil changes!

I walked out and found a German suppler, Ravenol, who had the correct specification gearbox oil and I ordered 2 bottles from their Agents in Cape Town!

That is why I avoid the local Jeep Agents!

I got a new windshield installed this morning, because the factory original was significantly cracked when I bought this KJ. Also replaced the old serpentine accessory belt which was starting to fray and show cracks, and rotated the tires (Yes I did get new lugnuts to replace the bulging rusty old ones).

Washed it.

Changed the oil and filter, air filter.
I've been using 5W-20 full synthetic since I bought it (out of the owner's manual)- But, I just noticed there's an addendum to the owner's manual that suggests 0W-40.

Oh well, guess I'll get that for next time.

My new lug nuts came in this afternoon. Six packs of four each. Three packs came in a big brown envelope, two packs came in a white shipping mailer, the last pack was in a box. Someone needs to talk to Amazon about coordinating their shipping a little better.

Ordered two, exactly the same items from Lehmans Hardware here in Ohio
Both arrived the same day, one in a 5X7 plastic mailer, one on a box 6X6X12 with a bunch of paper thrown in
only thing I can see , one came out of their store, one from their warehouse , who knows
but I didn't have to pay extra for shipping so who cares

That's pretty much why. It's especially true for Amazon purchases since they have so many locations and try to get everything delivered so quickly after ordering.

I'm not entirely sure how their system decides who to ship through, but I know that they have a deal with my employer to ship at least a certain percentage of their volume (whatever that number is) through our conspicuously brown delivery vans. >.>

Don’t think I’ve updated it here yet but a lot of my axle swap parts have come in over the last couple months and just got some more brackets today. Front axle is basically done minus a locker and rear axle is about half done with parts.

Wished my Jeep a Happy Birthday today. According to the build sheet she is now exactly 14 years old.

Sitting at 99,290 miles. I'm hoping for quite a few more great years out of her.
