Found a bit of really, really bad cancer today. Is going to require reconstructive surgery. Thankfully it is an easily accessible fairly easy to repair spot- the rear bottom corner of the passenger rear door well...

I wish it was just the door! In this case here I’m gonna have to head to the strap yard and “excise donor tissue”. Picked up one of those nibbler attachments for my drill today...should be more graceful than a sawzall!

Tow Mode from what I know is just a " special way " of saying that you kick the Overdrive off in a KK
Plus supposedly there are a couple of other computer controlled things that happen
One reason I like the earlier KJs , not so much electronic stuff to go bad
In a KJ if you are going to pull a trailer you just kick the OD off and go
Nice and simple . the way 4X4s used to be, well not quite but a good in between
I still love getting out, locking in the hubs, pulling the stick back into 4WD and going
Can you get locking hubs for the kJ?

Put on new brakes and rotors in the front today. Probably didn't really need new ones yet, but it's nice to learn something new and do it myself. Now to track down the slow coolant leak... can't keep the overflow bottle full, and the radiator stops dripping once it's empty.

Pressure check it
Plus check left side upper part of the radiator ( drivers side )
that is where it will develop a hairline crack

You're spot on with the left side- the drip is coming from somewhere right above the drain. Some of the coolant is collecting at the bottom clip for the fan shroud. Is there anything to be done about a hairline crack shy of replacement?

No a replacement is in your future sounds like
and buy a good one, cheap ones are cheap for a reason
no matter if they have a lifetime warranty, buddy bought one, little over a years time, he replaced his " lifetime warranty " one 11 times LOL

Small drip from the drivers side bottom corner of the radiator. The fluid looks like HOAT, not ATF, and not washer fluid.

I had been saving up to fix the air conditioning. Looks like I may be getting a radiator instead. I’ll do more sleuthing tomorrow to hopefully confirm where it’s leaking from. The radiator is original. Build date of my KK is October 1, 2007. 176,831 miles as of right now.

LOL, nope or many of us would have them
Lock out hubs are almost a thing of the past
Just remembering the good old days
I just went through one of my lock out hubs to snug a wheel bearing, on a Ford.

Unlocked for the season.

I've got them on my Tacoma I recently acquired. I'm happy about that but sometimes you find yourself in a situation that requires 4x4 and you rather not get out of the pickup. There's pro's and cons either way.

I’m in Michigan visiting the in-laws. Can’t make the trip back to Philly with a leaky radiator! Looks like we will be staying here a little longer than we thought, which isn’t bad at all. :) I am working remote anyway.

Looks like a new Mopar unit is about $200, plus the labor. We have a trusted shop I can take it to.

LOL, look what I found hung up in some hoses behind the radiator! I was poking around there with a flashlight looking for the leak.

Checking my records, the last time the water pump and thermostat were done was January of 2018, about 27,000 miles ago! :p
