I bought The BatCar from the local Subaru dealer, and went back today for one of my free oil changes and tire rotation they included as part of the deal. Their customer service puts the Jeep dealer to shame.

I also replaced the brake lights with some Lasfit led bulbs. Now I’m going to look into replacing some of the others back there. I think I might replace those rear interior lamps with red ones to see how that looks.

P.S. I found myself parked next to a white CRD Limited today. First time I’ve seen a diesel in the wild, but I didn’t get a chance to speak to the owner.

The weather was nice today, so I installed the Bat Plugs. Everything feels and sounds right, took it for a quick ride then scanned it and no codes. Center electrodes on the old ones pretty well gone.

I have about 26K on my plugs. Think that will be on my spring overhaul list.

I keep putting my effort into my yard, but with the deer eating everything I think I am going to make this The Year Of The Jeep.*

Has to be a lot of deer this year
I see at least two groups of 7-8 each every morning on the fairgrounds
Of course no hunting on the 160 acres there so it is a safe haven for them

No, it was stock. Body and interior looked good.

Is that about a teenager that rebuilds an old Jeep he finds in a barn or something?

That came out when I was nine years old. My dad (a H.S. teacher) was moonlighting on Fri and Sat nights at the main branch of the library and I used to go with him. I have always loved to read and 3 hours in a library with no one interrupting me was heaven. I always brought home 7-10 books each week. The first time I went to check them out the lady at the desk looked at me skeptically and said "These are due back in 30 days. Are you going to finish them by then?" When I brought them back the next week she gave me a pitying look and said "Gave up, huh?" I told her I had finished them all and was back for more. She started quizzing about a few of them and when it became obvious I actually HAD read them she quit hassling me. After that I was "the kid who reads too much", which coming from a librarian was high praise, in my opinion.

Got to play with a Gladiator yesterday on Interstate ( hate Interstates by the way but )
Had to make a short 170 mile round trip yesterday after work to pick up some parts
Just got on the big road when a new Gladiator came up behind me
Typical mall rated , with light bar on roof , 3 light cubes per side on the windshield pillars and a 24 inch or so light bar on aftermarket front bumper
Line of trucks so I was stuck in passing lane behind them, he kept zig zagging back and forth right on my bumper couldn't even see his headlights most of the time
So in a couple of miles we made it free , by then he had totally ticked me off.
Coming to a long uphill grade running at 75 he starts to pass me , about a third of the way up I hear him hit passing gear
So I let him get a two Jeep length in front and then I took off and blew by him, downhills he is up to 80-85 trying to get ahead
But on hills he is dead , hard as he tried he couldn't make it around
Normally I would of let him go on the first hill
But the shaking his head and thumbs down pointing at the 03, then his middle finger very proudly sticking up at me in the passenger window when I had done nothing at that point but to be stuck in traffic in front of him just made me want to have some fun
When I got off my exit ( after he was never able to pass me in over 80 miles ) I then received a two handed bird salute
I hope I made his day as much as he made my day LOL

Ran to Glenwood, IA yesterday to troubleshoot a small automatic car wash for the family of a recently (and unexpectedly) deceased veteran. Used the Highway 34 “bridge to nowhere” and really got open Bert up for the first time in a while.

And the )¥~^}€\>\~!+*!!! ABS system started acting up.

Had it scanned. Temporary loss of coms code for the passenger side sensor. Will be the third warranty replacement of that sensor and the fifth over all.

Perhaps this time I actually get on the works properly.

Ah those lovely sensors, wish ours didn't have those!! I'm guessing you've looked into this a bunch trying to fix it, but I'll share my go at mine.

When I first took mine apart instead of taking the sensor out by the clip in the engine bay, I wanted to test my luck getting the drivers front wheel speed sensor out of the original wheel bearing and yep, broke it.

Then my choice became what wheel speed sensor do I go with, oem for $$, roll the dice with some cheapies although the cheap ones don't seem to play well with the oem reluctor rings. Then I thought my wheel bearings are pushing 15 years old, might as well look into those. I love to buy quality anything I can, but the year or less warranty on all the american ones for 3-4x more didn't sit well with me.

Ended up finding some chinas on amazon that were $100 for a set of 2 that came with sensors, and the harnesses were extended so it could be used on either side. My gambling was on even if it fails in 6 months, I'll have another to put in its place and get back going, or if my passenger fails I have one waiting for that side. A year later it's still going strong, and I have my backup for which ever side fails first.

When I broke mine, like a dummy I turned the ign acc on, and gave myself the abs light to deal with. First just tried driving it to see if it would learn, I either didn't drive far enough or it just wasn't having it. Next I disconnected the battery cables and shorted them to eachother for a few mins and drove it, and luckily it went off.

Hopefully yours is just a faulty sensor and if you get a good one it fixes it right up!

It’s been faulty sensors since I accidentally broke mine off doing lower ball joints. Finally sprung for the greasable moogs, so I’m seriously considering doing a full ABS delete when I put them in.
ABS is overrated tech for idiot drivers and Nebraska has nearly no vehicle mod regs or inspection.

At this point I could have paid a shop to “fix” the system with what I have paid for sensors. Brand hasn’t made a difference. Driverside is an Amazon cheapo and works just fine. Passenger has literally had one of each brand at this point. LOL

Yeah, that would be enough to drive me nuts as well, and would make me want to do that too. Lol

And again why I only buy 02-05s
well 05 has more junk that I do not need on them,
so 02-04s are the best overall

Spent an hour this morning on mailmans 18 Jeep Wrangler
Had three wheel bearings put in on right side so far , all ABS related
new wiring from sensor up to controller
this morning had him running at 30 MPH in second gear all morning
