EMERGENCY WINDOW REGULATOR REPAIR!!!

Figures... I'm trying to diagnose *** is wrong with the brakes on the trailer (found one had a wire separated from its crimp, possibly shorting to the axle/frame and causing the controller to trip?), fixed that, all the others looked good, rolled down the windows in the jeep and POP! driver's rear goes all the way down on its own. <insert naughty words>

Pull the door apart and yep, the nylon piece shattered. Luckily I have the metal replacements waiting. Only one left is the passenger rear now.

Also, the kits I got, you have pop the stud out of the metal bracket attached to the glass, and the rears regulator bits have retainer holes that are bigger than the hole in the bracket on the window. had to drill out the hole in the window bracket, carefully.
Yep. Should be a SOP upgrade for all KJs.

Yerp, I've got all 4, only 2 installed, both passenger side. Will replace the other 2 when they give up, or when I feel like fixing something that is not yet broken...what's that called again? Preventative maintenance maybe?

Installed the pods up by the windshield...I hate that the only brackets available for the Kj are universal ones always makes for a not so perfect fit, but eyy it works

I haven't had my door panels open yet on mine, but saw the regulator style from a picture on your journal.

Are these metal clips people are speaking of something that can be purchased separate, or when its time to buy a replacement, make sure to get the ones with the metal component?

Ones I bought came with the clips, though I found mine down deep in the door bottom.

Mostly cleaned up. At least everything's off the trees at this point.

That windstorm yesterday was something else. It blew apart the hoop house over my garden. I got it put back together today before we get more freezing temps. The baby kale and spinach plants were no worse for wear.

sota - what are the details of this? I hope you are all OK. That looks scary.

We had high winds here over the weekend. One couple was actually trapped in the wreckage of their house when a tree fell on it.
