On the KK with skid plates the best way to the oil filter is through the drivers side headlight. ;)

Went to Mobil-1 full synthetic for the first time. Got to say I am pleased with how quiet the engine is now. No sewing machine tapping sounds at idle at all. I may be a Mobil-1 convert.
I switched over to full synthetic penzoil high mileage last change. Smoothed the idle out.

Curious, what size oil filter does your KK use? The gang at penzoil had a little difficultly finding the right one for Bert the transitionmobile. Lol

My owners manual says Mopar 5281090 or equivalent.

Are you using 5W-30 like the KJ’s or 5W-20 like the KK’s?

Oddly enough, these 07's seem to recommend 5w-20, must of been one of those wonderful last minute changes lol. With summer coming up, I'll be running 30 though :cool:

Yeah, 5-20. Though I’ve often contemplated 30 for the annual July trip. Those days of freeway driving and such through altitude in the heat

I do what Tom does. When I was temporarily exiled to VA I ran to the store in a hurry once and bought 5W-20 because that's what it said on the cap. Just about the time I was wiping off the dipstick while checking it after the change was complete I realized that 5W-20 in the hot Virginia summer was not a great idea. I ran it for less than 800 miles then changed it out for 5W-30. I was driving about 300 miles a week then* so the 5W-20 was probably out of there after less than three weeks.

*And I shudder to think of what I would be paying for gas per month if I was still stuck driving that distance. I got the OK to work from home and now I can go two months and not drive 300 miles. Even so, I still want to cuss when I do have to fill up again.

The budget for this years Uber mega ultra excursion is disheartening due to fuel. I haven’t determined if I’m going to cut it short or spend more time at less locations.

On the other hand, I could spend more time digging the Green River formation and pay for the whole trip in dead fish…

While working for the State of ohio I worked from home over 15 years, then started my own consulting business and worked from home for 5 years
Ruined me to ever go back to an " office " or drive anywhere, but here I am retired and driving ,....A LOT !

I am working on the "bike to work" option a couple days a week. Turns my 25 minute commute to an hour plus but should help the ticker and waist line.

Do you have to deal with hills? Tried doing this a few years ago but it tuned into a 90 min thing with the distance plus needing to take a shower when I arrived!

hilltopperbikes.com makes electric conversion kits that fit most bikes. I bought the Sprinter model two years ago and it’s awesome, makes the ride to work much easier. Now if it will just stop raining.

Wow I hadn’t considered an electric bike conversion kit. Great idea.

Can not imagine riding a bike 45 miles to work daily LOL even electric
Plus all of the hills / curves/ oil field water bottle trucks,......I would be flat on the road like a dead racoon the first 3 miles ha ha
Even the Amish would be faster than I would be , and yes see 10-12 of their buggys every night and morning

Fail. I am absolutely stumped. I have officially replaced every single part related to the passenger front ABS system. And still the *^%#*^%*&%*! thing refuses to communicate, so it tries to apply the *&%#$^*$# brake at random. Only way to drive it is with that sensor disconnected at which point everything is fine...except that leaves on the #^$& warning lights and disables the cruise control.
Have replaced: All suspension and steering components. Brand new moog wheel bearing. Axel. Brakes. More (*^$&%^%(*$ sensors than I care to admit. No matter what I do, the &^$* thing throws the ^$&*%%$@&(* Wheel Speed sensor codes and tries to apply the passenger front brake when it shouldn't. No issues with the rest of the system. Current sensor is the one installed by Moog on the wheel bearing hub.

100+F temps and I’m trying to troubleshoot the ******* abs system. Have delayed the annual Great Desert Road Trip by a week as a result. Can design/troubleshoot/repair anti missile systems. Can do molecular research. Can’t get the ******* abs to work….
