What did you do to your jeep today?

Maybe the problem is in the wiring. Other end, by the computer? Everything else has been replaced.

Trying to understand the issue. So you don’t have an ABS light on all the time? Just have traction control kick on at stupid times?

Here are some threads pertaining to this kind of thing in the KK. Let me know if this is the issue, or if instead you’re dealing with an ABS system fault.

My traction control thinks it has to turn on during slow bumpy 90° corners in 2wd. I just ignore that pretty much.

Had my own frustrating afternoon with the Jeep. Replaced the belt tensioner with a new Mopar unit, and tried to mount a new Gates serpentine belt. Nope. Spent 3 hours trying to get that thing to go on and nope. It was the correct part number but fully an inch shorter than the belt I took off. Grrr. Had to put the old belt back on and ordered a Mopar belt. Mopar should be guaranteed to fit. I don’t know why I even try aftermarket anything anymore.

Do the KKs have two different size pulleys like the KJs do

Which pulleys, Tom? On the belt tensioner they seemed the same size.

Yes on the tensioner

The old tensioner I took off was the same also. The difference is in the belt length this time. Fingers crossed the Mopar belt is a smidge longer.

Went to the yard (yesterday) and pulled some nice looking seats off an '03. Still gotta wash 'em before swapping.

(Our 05 Renegade is ratty enough that the right set of junkyard buckets & bench is an improvement.)

Bought a lot of Liberty parts today Plenty to do now on top of trans oil cooler lines on our main family ride.

Mopar rear lower control arms, Mevotech rear upper tri link control arm thing, Mopar rear bump stops, and TYC headlights (originals mad faded).

Would be interested in how you like the headlights. I installed TYC in my 2005 a couple years back and they resulted in a "dark zone" in front of the vehicle although they are supposedly correctly aligned... I don't think I am blinding anyone at night (no one has ever flashed high beams at me) so I don't think they are sitting too high. Changed out the bulbs for higher output models but it still looks like it's too dark out to about 10 ft or so. Maybe a shadow from the headlight housing?

Found this today.

The original muffler & exhaust lasted 142,000 miles, 2007-2017. We have replaced the exhaust at 142,000 miles (2017), 160,000 miles (2019), weld repair at 180,000 miles (2021). The weld band-aid is broken now at 193,000 miles. Looks like the aftermarket exhausts are good for about 20,000 miles or 2 years. Ugh.

Looking for recommendations on a good long lasting exhaust kit. I don’t need a throaty sound, just want a quality exhaust.

Got rear ended by a Peterbilt yesterday thank God the truck swerved at the last second and just hit the back corner.

Well insurance has been a pain in the butt, but the repair shop said that it's probably totaled. I don't have the savings to go get a newer vehicle.... so I may be getting another Liberty. I'm bummed since I just put the lift kit on last fall, had new A/T tires put on, and had the rear control arms replaced in December which now just feels like a bunch of money down the drain.

Sorry to hear this. Hopefully the insurance payout is enough to get a new Liberty. If they do not include the cost of the lift and tires on it, see if you can swap them back out before they tow it away, to use on the next Liberty.

Have a local exhaust shop build one for you. I had one done on my old XJ and it was solid.

Good to know. Mine are just enhanced "Night vision" halogen bulbs. I like how bright they are down the road. Lots of junk from blown out tires in the driving lanes here in AZ in the summer. Have learned to live with the shadow...

I hope magnaflow's quality is as good as it was when I bought for my vehicles in the past.

I bought a mbrp catback for my tj, and their no details stainless steel was made from what must of been 400 series, and started to get surface rust within a couple months. The fitment was fine, but for the price I paid, I expected quality stainless to be used.

I like that Magnaflow has a reputation for quality, is made in California by US workers, and sounds good too! Tom had a Magnaflow on the black Kilimanjaro KJ in 2014 when I got to ride in it, and loved the exhaust note it made.
