Try 27080741396975259.also anyone got a current rock auto code?
I think it can ne found on rock auto or Amazon. It's the same on both sides.well that didn't work.
tried to drive it tonight. didn't even get out of the driveway and it's thump thump thumping just as loudly.
will pull the front driveshaft hopefully tomorrow, and re-test. that would mean the only thing spinning the diff is the left front wheel.
also, anyone know the part number of the front differential seal that's on the passenger output side? It's the one the axle shaft rides in. I'm thinking i should order at least one, since the seal looked pretty foul while I was doing all this.
part of the plan is, to put in the 3.73s, see what they affect in terms of performance and fuel economy, towing "effort", and give me the option to go DTT (front, rear, or even both) before I do a potential gear change to 4.10s. note, the DTT for the 3.55 is not compatible with 3.73 or 4.10 gears, hence why I haven't gotten one yet.The CVs shouldn't be noisy driving straight, sounds more diff like, what's the oil like? Any lumps or sparkling bits?
if it is the diff, is it worth the effort for a small ratio change? I'd just put the spare diff in and the best of the driveshafts you have and call it done, maybe replace any dodgy looking CV joints.
any time I've pulled wires I've always ran an extra pull string, for future use. you'll never need it of you do it.I got a wire through the firewall for my temperature sensor. I ran a second wire in case I need one in the future. I appear to have done no harm. But it’s already 90 degrees F outside so that’s it for a while.
*Any* of this stuff can happen to *any* of us, *any* time. Thank you for sharing!!so, yea, the immediate jeep problem is solved. and apparently, i'm a *******.
pulled it in the garage, put it in the air, prepped to start yanking the driver's axle, and possibly the diff.
go to take the driver's front wheel off and wtf? these lugs are loose. I mean LOOSE loose. All 5 were LOOSE. 2 practically fell off!
well THAT'S not good. took the wheel off, inspected everything for potential damage, didn't find anything of note (the holes in the rims have ever so slight thread imprints on them, but no ovaling of the holes), so I gave it a bath (since it's off and it's disgusting) and put it back on, TORQUING the nuts this time. took it for a drive and, no more loud clunking.
resigning myself to being dumber than a bag of rocks (or a VPOTUS) I put the passenger axle back in. another drive, and still no more evil noises.
51 years old, been wrenching since my mid teens, NEVER EVER EVER had that happen before.
If I never did anything dumb I'd cease to be me.so, yea, the immediate jeep problem is solved. and apparently, i'm a *******.
