Ordered the truetracs and 4.10 gears for both axles...next payday will be the overhaul kits. I might replace the intermediate shaft while I have the front axle apart as I hope I never have to pull it again...would that be a good idea or no?

not a bad idea. Mine wasn't that bad and I changed it anyways when I needed to do the axle seal and bearing. You probably won't have to ever change it again after that.

I'm usually a day late on here somehow. I finally got the new lightbar switch installed and it runs like it should again.

I tried to install the plow bracket w/o cutting the plates. I really really REALLY tried. No go. Wasted 2.5 hours on that. Pulled the damn thing off, cut the plates free, bolted everything back up, lined it all up, and tomorrow I can tack it. After that it's finish weld it, clean it, prime it, paint it, install it, then find out if I can really run the backbone and the plow at the same time (interference, maybe?) Won't know until I try.

Oh and I haven't even gotten around to pulling the winch from the receiver bracket and installing it and the wiring.

I am so ready to be done with this damn install.

Did nothing at all with it, its on vacation sitting in the garage with a very detailed engine bay. Jax Wax engine detailing kit works great:gr_grin:
Everywhere I went I was riding around on the passenger side in a new Mercedes M-Class SUV, could get used to this :icon_lol:

so the answer is...
you cannot run the plow and the backbone at the same time. ****
gonna finish up the install, leave the backbone off for now (with the horn brackets still installed... just because...) and sort it out at a later date. need the plow it seems REALLY soon.

well I decided to push back the install for the truetracs and 4.10's, I figure it will be a good time to replace the inner axle for the D30A as well as new cv axles up front, I will have to figure out this weekend where my driveline vibration is coming from. I think it is the front driveshaft so I will pull it out and see what happens.

Took the Jeep out into the desert today outside our home, the first time after I got the lift in. It did ok, not as good as the Suzuki it replaced, but I will work on that. The Sidekick had a rear locker which is a HUGE advantage in this desert sand. Plus it had Duratrac's, while the KJ has M/T STZ's, but they were still aired at 30-32 lbs, while I kept the Sidekick at 20 almost all the time. Usually the more aggressive tire, the worse it is in sand, so the M/T's should be fine with less air and a locker. Getting a weird clunking in the rear going over whoops too fast. I gotta check that out too.

I took a few pics, although the desert isn't very attractive this time of year. Also included a shot with the "trail dogs"........
