Drove it to the gun range and put 15/16 of a pound of lead through a target. Might need to ice my shoulder down tonight. Good thing I'm not pitching tomorrow.

This is why I have pistols and only an AR-15. The AR doesn't hurt my shoulder unless I don't hold it tight enough and the pistols don't at all.

Judging by my shots this afternoon I could aim for the breadbasket and put a one ounce slug right through his doo-dads. OK by me... :mexsmoke:

been working on the bits for the jeep the past couple weeks.
I've come to the conclusion that the people who make the body mount for the jeep suck. I'm going to have to cut welds, reposition plates, and re-weld.

I put gas it in and drove down the street to get groceries. Most of the groceries wouldn't fit. On my way home I stopped and put gas in it again and drove home...

Messed with the front dome lamp, its where the rattling is coming from. Hopefully the adjustments I made fix it otherwise going to have to find a way to shim it up. Going to need to tighten down the bolts on the driver side seat now. I had a feeling that the driver seat might have also been squeaking as well.

Took mine to my mechanic to have the radiator replaced this morning. I started to do it myself, then saw it has an engine fan with one large nut holding it on, along with the electric fan. I have dealt with those before and they can be a PITA without the proper tools. So I decided to put what I had removed back on and just send it out to the shop.

Kind of ***** as I haven't been able to drive it since it started leaking the day after I got it aligned for the new lift. I checked Youtube vids, but none of them I found had both mechanical and electric fans with the deeper shroud. Not sure why mine does. Tow package maybe?

That's either the tow package or some nut like me added the mech fan. Not bad at all to get that off but it does take some muscle.

still working on the winch and plow brackets.
took the plow bracket over to the shop and compared it to another one... same issues.
either the jig they have made up is ****** up, or the welder guy is drunk most of the time.
either way, I've come up with the solution: cut the welds to the plates that are horridly out of line, bolt them in place to the jeep frame, align the bracket and re-weld it all up.

hopefully by the end of December i'll be done.

that, is one of the reasons I love having a stick over an automatic.
5th gear and I'm only turning over 2900rpm at that speed.
6th gear and I'm only turning over 2500rpm. :D

Also... got the off-vehicle plow assembly done finally. now, on to working on the hell of the north. :favorites68:

Removed my hitch and replaced my gas tank straps. This was a ORDEAL! Hitch came off no problem with only a little bump trying to get the bolt that is near the exhaust pipe. No Problem. Got one of the bolts of the tank straps off little effort. Cool. Second bolt. Barely touched it and the freaken head snapped off! Kept calm. Did some googling. Rode my bike 2 miles to the hardware store to get some bolt extractors. Got back drilled the bolt through got the extractor in and then the extractor snaps.... those are a PITA to drill! I ended up using my carbide dremel bit and lots of pressure. Took me a hour to get that out! Then I just started drilling more and more until... nothing! I got frustrated grabbed the drill bit that I know works with my tap for that size drilled it out and tapped a new hole! Finally. Got that strap on. The other side went fine. Then when tightening one of the new bolt's head snaps off! WTF. Again drill... extract. Then used one of the old bolts. Gas tank is secure... sorry for the rant!

not that I ever want try it, but if I ever break a bolt head off like that, I'm going to try the nut and welder trick.

cleaned up the garage of all my tools and shit lying around. now I can focus on getting the damn brackets to bolt up. time for some drilling, some grinding, and some welding!
