I don't know why I waited until 4PM to change my battery and cable clamps. I've been tethered to oxygen for nearly 8 years now, so I know everything takes much longer than normal and the tension and pressure to get the job done before it gets too dark makes it even worse. So, just as I was almost finished tightening the nut on the first new terminal clamp, the socket popped loose and dropped into a very hard to reach place - and I had neither a flashlight nor magnet handy. Can't believe I spent over an hour taking the old battery out, bolting the new battery down and switching out (almost) only one clamp. 
Glad I got no place to go. Back at it tomorrow. :emotions34:

Your pictures make pages here load really slow. You are direct linking to full resolution images and there prob'ly isn't a single person here who has a monitor with a native resolution even close to 4,608×3,456px. And a 6 and a quarter megabyte file is huge for any system - and you got 2 of them there. Please be considerate of all the other members here and use software to reduce the size of your pictures. I'm sure most of us like a large picture that shows all the details, but the average monitor or mobile device these days has a resolution of only 1920x1080px. If you don't have the software as a default app on your system, you can get quite good ones for free. It takes only a moment to resize and save a photo and you can give it a new name so you still have the original size to play with later. Thanks.

Loaded up my recovery gear in the Kj, and filled the tank. It's snowing here, and the last time the whole city of Atlanta shut down. It was like the zombie apocalypse without the zombies. Will be offering my recovery services to the middle GA and Atlanta area. Now offering discounted prices, $75 gets you out of you hook the strap, $125 if I do it, and $180 if you just went flying past me like a *******. The_Dealer is not responsible for any damages: If your front end gets snatched out, you prolly shouldn't have hooked the strap there.

I offered to help a guy stuck in the mud on the Skyline Drive last fall. Had the tow strap out and everything. He asked me if I could hook up the strap because he didn't want to get himself all muddy. I told him I'd tell the rangers he was there, and good luck to him. Got on my CB and tried channel 9 but all I got were a couple of nitwits having a conversation in Spanish. I wonder if he's still out there. :mexsmoke:

Finally completed my battery switchout. Ran into a couple more hangups because I haven't taken the advice of wiser folks who tell me not to lend my tools out. I had to jump on my Segway and go to the hardware store for a drill bit. The cables have 2 different size tips - the positive cable had a smaller hole end, so I had to drill it out to fit the new cable clamp.
The first picture below is of the old battery and cable clamps. I should have taken the photo before I cleaned off all the corrosion. I couldn't even fit the socket over the nuts it was so thick. All new and clean now though. The Jeep starts easier and faster now. I didn't realize it would make that much difference. The old battery was only 4 years old, but it looked like a cheap store brand from O'Reilly. I have more faith in known brands and Optima has good reviews overall.

I'd drive on by! Last one that looked like that I stopped to help, ended up married to her for 6 long painful months ( 3 of those we didn't even live togetehr!) Got out with only losing new furniture and a new car .
So let them stand there and some other poor fool pull their chain

Installed my Husky Liners. Necessary purchase after junior brought his lunch up all over the back floor boards. Next time, just hose them off! Anyone know the best way to clean the upholstery?
Upholstery shampoo/steam extractor. Well worth it to have a pro shop do it ASAP.
