Flex joints put in the UCA. UCA going back in this weekend. Going to lube up all joints while I'm under there.

Can't wait to drive her when she's nice and tight again.

Is it just me, or do the KJ's seem to run quieter and smoother with a fresh oil change?

I had about 2500 miles on the old oil and was getting pretty brown on the dipstick.
I think the Jeep liked the fresh oil, and the Lubegard seems to keep it quiet.
Oh and Midtronics load test passed today with 1011 CCA reading on the Odyssey battery!
The 10 amp charge did the trick.

On the XJ I deleted the heater control valve, since it was leaking. According to the Cherokee forum that's the wise thing to do. Jeep got rid of them for 97.

My Jeep is the same with oil. It could be all in my head, but I genuinely feel like it runs much smoother on fresh oil.

Ordered 1 US Wheels 15" black and chrome modular wheel from Summit to do a test fit before committing to all 4 or 5. Went with 15x7 5x4.5 with 4.5" BS. I'm hopeful because I really like the wheel and would like to go with a set of 30x9.5R15 MT's for my Summer tires this Spring.

I've been curious about that Lubegard oil additive. I've successfully used some of their transmission products in other vehicles but have only used the occasional pint or so of MMO in the KJ's oil. I'll have to give it a try.

Have you owned your KJ since new and have always put synthetic in it?
Just curious because people say if you switch from conventional that sometimes it'll flush the built up sludge and may unveil hidden issues and whatnot
I'm changing mine today as well and was going to try and get some nice oil in to see if I can feel a difference in the way she runs compared to the Mobil1 conventional I put in about 3k ago
I don't believe I'll have issues but I was wanting to try some synthetic

If you don't leak or burn anything if significance now, synthetic won't change that. Could even use a high mileage synthetic. Or a blend. Right now I'm running Valvoline Maxlife in mine, it's a blend and the KJ seems to like it.

Right, I don't burn much and no leaks here
I was looking at a high mileage one but I'll checkout the blends as well
I also read somewhere forever ago that some brands aren't true synthetics??
So then what ones are and which should I avoid

It's a highly debated topic. Check out Bob is the oil guy. Good stuff on there. Really edu-muh-cated me. :D
Group III base oils (i.e. Mobil 1, Valvoline Synpower, many more) are technically very very very very highly refined natural oils whereas Group 4 is all synthetic. Is there a difference? Not really, people get great results with either. Hell, you'd be hard pressed to find a bad oil these days. Even SuperTech oil from Walmart gets rave reviews.

That's exactly what I was thinking
It's like most things now, almost all brands are good kind of like TVs they just upcharge them based on brand name (all you really buy anymore)
