I wouldn't back it out of the driveway without that bolt in there. I would say you don't have it all the way down in if it doesn't go through. I've had at least 30-35 apart including mine and never had any issues when everything is together right. But again be very careful if it comes out in the middle of a turn etc, FUN RIDE .
I know from experience when doing testing for a new design tri-link what can happen, scary when the back swings out at 50 MPH

Well, after all the time I spent fighting with it yesterday and it wouldn't budge at all, today the bolt just slid right in. I guess the drive to work last night did the trick.

I changed the oil and replaced the bump stops. The bump stops were the original factory ones and way too small for the lift. I was having excessive body roll whenever I went around corners or over large bumps (driveways, gutters etc). It seems the control arms weren't really hitting the stops, causing excessive travel. Got new, larger bump stops and its a much smoother ride.

Also replaced the electric cooling fan. Luckily I have the towing package so I was still able to drive my Jeep (since I have two fans) but if I used the air con, the Jeep would start to overheat. The replacement fan I bought from the USA wasn't as good quality as the original. The 3 mounts were plastic, not metal, and one had snapped in transit! I wrapped it in a mountain of duct tape and its now probably stronger than before.

I aim to change the transmission fluid this weekend.

Not only do these new wheels & tires look cool, they are so much more off-road capable than my old tires it ain't funny. And on-road is pretty damn good too - also better than the old (god, I hated that howling sound).

Looks good Jim I'm glad you finally have your KJ how you've wanted it!
Aggressive tires make them look the best and I like the wheels
You will feel much more stable and connected to the road with those bad boys

sounds like it wasn't all the way in then, the ball joint that is. I remember mine being a :favorites68: :favorites68: :favorites68: :favorites68: :favorites68: to get all the way down as well.

Got my replacement cluster, hopefully this gets the f'n abs light to go off. My rig doesn't have abs, so it's had me pretty stumped.

Got tired of hearing the water Boise from the heater core. Can't get the air out it seems and bought a vacuum kit. What're you're guys' thoughts?

Ya know how, when you buy new tennis shoes, you gotta scuff them up an' get them a little dirty before you can be seen in public? Well...

That was just the beginning of the ride. We have had a tremendous, just really tremendous amount of rain and before that, snow recently. There was a lot of mud to be driven through on that road and I hit every patch I could find - and spun brodies in one really big area. Sorry I didn't get a photo of it covered in mud, but you already know what they look like (if you don't, shame on you - turn in your Trail Rated badge).

I am really pleased with these new tires. And the bonus... after all the uneven and rutted out roadway I bounced around on today, I heard the tire rub the wheel well a total of one times - and it was more like a quick burp. :D

Found a set (5) of Moabs for $300. Should I do it? No tires on them. I'll need tires within the year I think.

You could probably get a better deal on them, unless they're literally brand new I wouldn't pay that much for them
I've seen some listed anywhere from $100-$200 for the set with minimal damage, scratches and maybe some little blemishes but nothing that can't be fixed

I just couldn't help myself, she looks way too good clean and shiny
Also it was 60 degrees in Ohio in mid Feb so I had to take advantage of the kind offer by Mother Nature!

I thought that was an ok deal, not a fire sale.

I'll wait. I'm just fine with my OE rims. Refinished them last summer. Rather use the KJ fund on other stuff.

thats decent , around here they are 100 a piece at best. Been looking for a while

Same around me. I actually need a set of plain old 16" steelies cause I have an extra set of tires. Can't find any crappy ones at a decent price.

250-300 is the going rate if they are in good shape. I have seen set of 5 up as high as 450 and they sold in 4 days.
I'd grab them if they look good.

Maybe it's just me, but the thought runs through my mind, "ever'body's got Moabs." Find something unique. Save a little here, a little there and before you know it, you got enough to get something most Jeepers don't have.
