Used it as a parts grabber for doing a brake job on the escape. 2 hours for a caliper, both rotors, and pads. I think I'm getting faster.

Just drove it, did nothing to it but sit in the garage with her, sharing one or three beers.
But since she's only 14 she only got a sip.......
Also got to thinking, graduated high school in 1972, was driving a 55 Chev 2 door post, with a 302 Z motor, 30-30 Duntov solid lifter cam, dual line 780 Holley , Munice 4 speed thinking some day I'll have a great job and can afford a new car.
Man what I wouldn't give to own that car now !
Who needs new??

Well maybe not an XJ
Had three , all bought new
everyone was little problems from day one.
Put a lot of miles on all 3 but none of the KJs have given me 1/4 of the issues the XJs did . Big following but I really never want one again.
But a J series pickup, or a Wagoneer just may do the trick I think

I don't want to say the KL is a problem child but the KJ had way less issues going on at that age.

Currently walking 1/2 mile from Walmart to autozone because it's the only place open on a Sunday morning.. but doesn't open for another half hour so I'm gunna take my time getting there lol.

Came out of Walmart, started the jeep.. heard a weird growl come from the engine so I popped the hood before I left... yeahhh, that intermittent belt squeal I've been dealing with for a year...
My tensioner was blown apart... to say it went bad is a magnificent understatement lol. I'll upload a pic later..
So I'm walking to autozone. Luckily the have a dayco tensioner and dayco belt in stock..
I wanted to buy Mopar but I'm not leaving it at Walmart overnight..
The whole reason I'm here was I was trying to get out fishing semi-early.. Guess not!!

I installed the front skid plate. Well, i got 3 of the 4 bolts in. The last one, the nutzert came free inside the crossbar so now the bolt is hanging free, stuck there. The other 3 bolts are torqued and locktite, so it will have to do.

I leave in a week for a 2 week offroad camping trip through the Cape. Lots to do this week.

Dayco and Gates are better than Mopar anyway!

Put a new set of Autolite double platinum spark plug in. Someone had put NGK's in and left them in too long as they had some good wear. Glad I remembered the old trick of using a piece of 3/8" ID hose to install those plugs rather than risk cross threading the new ones. Number 6 was a real treat

When I bought mine it had Iridium plugs in it not knowing they were not the right plugs I replaced them with a new set. Just went back to copper core last service and wow what a difference it goes so much better more power smoother. Highly recommend the copper
