changed the rear wiper.
tested it and it stopped working, leaving the wiper stuck in the middle.
FML. I seriously cannot catch a break with this jeep.
Hoping it's just a connection issue or it's internals are jammed.
otherwise it's any where from $50 to $120 dollars depending on used or new.

sigh......

The rear wiper on my '06 never worked worth a damn. It didn't just stop working but even with a new wiper blade it didn't seem to really do anything.

Likely needed a new wiper arm (or needed to bend it back into place). My buddy has a similar issue with his WJ.

I removed the arm/etc on mine with less than a 1000 miles on it back in October 2004, never used it , never seen a need for one.

Me neither, I've never used mine. Gee, I wonder if it even works?

After almost ten years of non use mine does. I accidentally turned mine on about 4 months ago, every few seconds I would hear this electric motor sound as I was driving, kept listening trying to figure out what it was . After about 100 miles I pulled over going nuts from hearing that noise and figured it out :emotions34::emotions34::shrug::icon_lol::favorites68:

Well took it in and got two recalls fixed. This is one of the recall fixes I guess lol If your Jeep does not have a trailer hitch you should be able to get one for free under the recall I think or at least the free sticker :icon_lol:

"Chrysler recommends...." Here in IL, it's illegal to drive with the ball receiver in place without a trailer on it, if it extends 4" beyond the bumper. Don't know that the police are enforcing that one very stringently though. Good old IL, protecting ourselves from ourselves one tax dollar at a time!

Today I changed the drivers side valve Cover gasket, and had the correct rpm programmed in my computer for the 265/75/16 tires that she's wearing :). ... What an incredibly different feeling she has now! Throttle response and shift points have changed dramatically and she is so much friendlier to accelerate :)

Dropped the trans oil pan to reseal it.
Found a gasket and no sealant. Bolts pulled tight and deformed the pan.

New filter, lots of rtv and just ready to fill it up with new oil tomorrow afternoon.

They are Class IV hitches, they are larger than what the standard factory hitch for them were.

ah okay.
according to my build sheet, the factory installed hitch is a class 3.
If class 4 hitches are what must be installed, i'll make sure they put in a new hitch.

Can anyone confirm that the recall involves putting in a class 4 hitch?

My google-fu didn't come out with anything.

thanks.
