Thats a hell of a deal. What did you end up getting?

hankook dynapro mt's 245/75/16 for 137 a piece. sams club they were 176 a piece plus 60 for mounting and balancing. local shop might cost a little more for mounting but it still saves me money.

Went camping with my Jeep and some mates. It was a great trip with plenty of mud crabs for dinner.

The corrugations were pretty nasty at times. I noticed when i got home that one side of the mounts for the e-fan had sheared off and the fan was hanging on by the remaining bolt, leaning dangerously close to the mechanical fan. I wouldnt have made it home if that happened out bush! Its temporarily held in place with a trusty ziptie.

Also, looking under the Jeep when I got home, the two rear bolts holding on my front skid plate have been rattled out of their little holes. Now I cant get the bolts out to put new ones in! Im not a fan of those Rivnut things. I guess ill have to angle grind the heads of the bolts off or something?? Again, the skid plate is currently being supported by some trusty zipties!

Yea thanks. Its a pretty shallow water crossing that ive done many times. Its tidal though so the depth and flow changes all the time. After rain its quite hard to see the concrete below because the water becomes murky. Veering off the side will see you plunge into deep (crocodile) waters. :help:

ordered a new coolant overflow tank, rear caliper bleeder valves, and lug nuts. will probably be finishing the lift this weekend now that my altima is having the dreaded transmission shudder issues the cvts are known for.

Picked up a new Yukon nodular iron third member, 5.43 gears, Timken carrier bearings, and master install kit. Also upgraded to the Daytona nodular iron pinion support.

Had to upgrade to fit my Detroit locker with bigger 3.25" bearings. You can see it clearly won't fit the stock case which uses 2.89" bearings. It was a toss up between this and the Strange pro-n case but I was able to get everything as a package from Quick Performance for much cheaper than the Strange case and daytona pinion support alone as I was able to grab it from their ebay store instead of their website and could use a 15% off code from the eBay android app.

This is going in the 9" on my Jeepspeed XJ.

Don't remember if I posted them yet but swapped it from drums to disc's using Speedway motors big bore gm caliper, 1/4" weld on caliper brackets, and a 94 f150 rotor. I ran all new hard lines and swapped in an 01 Dakota mastercykinder which has 33% more surface area on the piston vs the stock xj MC. It's a direct bolt in which is great. Since the stock prop valve is setup for rear drums I replaced it with a summit racing adjustable prop valve.

I still need to get a new junction block and short soft lines from the caliper to the hard line on the axle.

All new drums for the 02 and one wheel cylinder.
Need to find the oem driver side rear brake line as the one I made just doesn’t look the same.

yeah i loved them when i had them on my pathfinder.

on a side note killed my battery again cause i left the bluetooth fm transmitter plugged in without running the jeep for about 10 days. good thing its a new battery with a warranty. because of this might replace the stereo with a cheap aftermarket one so i no longer need the transmitter.

was also thinking about a carpet replacement since this one is trashed. has anyone does this?

Speaking of Pathfinder...

A while back I posted about seeing all sorts of vehicles missing lugnuts here in my city. Well finally I got a good laugh out of it!

Don't worry. Nobody was hurt. What I don't get, was how he drove a full city block away from where his wheel and drum were sitting!!!!

Finally installed my JBA y link extension.
I wasn’t sure about the washers between the bolt head and the bracket but I used one washer between the bracket and the original mount. If I followed the picture in the included diagram I wouldn’t have enough. Looked like it wa using 3 behind the nut and 4 behind the bolt head.
Well it’s installed and I gotta say - tbis should have been done at the time I did the lift. 80% of my issues I been chasing are gone. The amount of time and money wasted is laughable.

I have a second one that is going on right after I lift the 03. Not gonna skip out again


Also my original power steering pump shaft bearing blew apart. That was the source of the squeak I picked up over last weekends 400 mile trip. Luckily it destroyed itself while pulling into my driveway or else it would have needed a tow. Installed a reman and got a new pulley pressed on.
Don’t know why the remans paint the res black - can’t see the fluid level from outside ?

Yeah, I swapped the OE tank onto the replacement pump. Couldn't take the blacked out version.

I believe the one I looked at was called XLT.
Now do I swap to those or try a ST maxx or pro ? One of those is strictly mud the other looks more like a mudd/AT hybrid.
Plus the Pro I can’t find in a 70. Only 75. I would have to pick the Maxx.

I really like the AT3 so far but at 14k since last July , I’m down to 10 and 9/32nds already (started at 14/32nds)

Im more concerned about snow. I travel through the hardest storms and seasonal only roads and trails. When I do see mud it’s not a mud pit. I’m not running the jeep through them anymore. Although it handled it well on the brand new AT3 I just don’t like the clean up and rust that followed.

The older style like I have now. And my 5th wheel is still brand new

Well I have a 4 STT Pros and 1 STT as a spare. I couldn't tell a difference between the Pros and the STT in terms of noise/handling.

I really like the STT Pros. I have thoroughly abused them and they are holding up great. They are also pretty quiet for a mud tire. The reason I went with them over another mud tire was the tread pattern/sipping looked to be good for wet roads and they are.

On the street I run them at 30psi because I have load range Es and the sideway is super tough. I would suggest getting them in a D range if you want a smoother ride. With the Es I can drop down to 18-20psi and you can't even tell but once it comes in contact with a rock it wraps around it really well. They have a flex groove the is cut around the edge of the tread/sidewall and it allows the tire to flex a lot. They were also super easy to balance too.

I got mine from Walmart.com and added the road hazard warranty for $10/tire. I did manage to cut one before I had onboard air and could air down while playing in the rocks and Walmart replaced it at no cost to me. Just know if you tell them it happened offroad it will not be covered.

Finished the front suspension and brakes. 2 things. First it badly needs an alignment. 2nd I'm hearing all kinds of knocking when going over bumps. I did realize that the top shock mounts werent tight enough. Tightened them but still here it. Was thinking of removing the rear sway bar. Any other suggestions of what to check.
