Drove the Mrs and I up to the ski hill yesterday in wintery conditions. This thing drives Soo good. Came home tired and left the snowboards locked to the rack only to find the cross bars and boards missing this morning. I guess I get to build up some crossbars and buy new snowboards.

Check craiglsit and ebay.

What he said.

Where I work we had some items come in, which isn't at all unusual, and we got a normal story, "friend/relative died, and no one wants his collectibles, are you interested?" We bought them, put them for sale and also listed them on eBay. About 2 weeks later we get a call from some guy who claims they are his and were stolen. He called the police, then searched eBay,found us and another store(pawn shop) who listed them, and called us to ask to not sell them until the police could contact us and recover them.

Def contact the police because pawn shops keep records and usually work with the police, so the police might know where stuff like that gets sold in your area, but ebay and craigslist are usually a wider reach.

Thanks all, ya I've been working with the police and watching some Craigslist and such. I don't expect I'll see them, but life goes on. My friend karma will take care of them I believe.

I added a 3” dryer vent between the grill and air box. I’ll try and get pictures in the day light. I cut a hole in the front of the stock box, fit a flange through it and used a hose clamp on the vent. I cut a hole in the rubber seal next to the radiator and ran the vent through there with another flange. I drove it around the block and it feels snappier, the true test is taking it to town.

I got the idea from old posts. The pictures were no longer available but I’m happy with the way it turned out!

Happy Jeeping!

Here are some pictures. I may change it to a rubber hose, now that I can see the shape and the route.

MLK weekend update
Two trips from Ohio to North Carolina
( picked up my wife down there , then took her back )
up to Columbus ( OH ) to see our son
all in, the 05 had about 1700 extra miles put on her, never missed a lick
This is why you keep maintenance up, use good quality parts etc
Out having fun with no worries, well except for the Va cops I passed doing 85 in a 65 but........oh well

took it to the local hand car wash that explicitly lists a plow & truck special.
$15 gets you:
pressure pre-rinse
mop soaping
hand mitt washing
pressure post-rinse (wands)
pressure post-rinse (ring)
blow dry
hand dry

$5 extra for pressure wash undercarriage

they scrubbed the jeep and the plow. for $20 it was totally worth it NOT having to do it myself. I'd probably do a more thorough job myself, but would take 10x as long or more, and I'd be freezing my rump off doing it. For a post-storm cleanup, it should be more than enough to get the salt off.

I just got a membership to an unlimited wash club at a place close by for $30/month that includes an application of "Turtle Wax Underbody Rust Inhibitor". I figure even if the Rust Inhibitor is snake oil, it's worth it to clean the chem line residue and salt off after the local gov goes crazy in anticipation of the "storms" we've had recently. Of course, I gotta go back tomorrow, because I checked my online statement and they charged me for the membership AND the wash I got today. Let's hope this is the only mistake.

are you sure you'll survive? I hear it's so "cold" there it's raining iguanas.

*laughs in sub-freezing*
