Thanks all, ya I've been working with the police and watching some Craigslist and such. I don't expect I'll see them, but life goes on. My friend karma will take care of them I believe.

some people just suck. sorry to hear about this. hope it works out. i worry about leaving my tool/recovery gear strapped up top with my hi lift...they are locked and secured with cable, but we all know that's just a deterrent to keep honest people honest...

A little heat and soak with PB Blaster... works 90% of the time for me

In other news, WK2 needs an oil change and tire rotation (again? already?)
Also should replace the battery.
And really needs an interior cleaning
Hope I can get it inside at work one of these days- my garage is cold and damp...

As for the jeep, it hasn't moved in over a week; outside, under cover, still setup to plow a storm that probably will never come.

finally pulled the trigger on a used gas tank skid to complete my set. now if only i could afford a set of offroad style bumpers...

So my eBay seller flaked out on me...does anybody else have a lead on a gas tank skid for an 07 KJ? trying to complete my set of skid plates before an upcoming trip in a few weeks.

Kilby is the best I have found, have two, one new one I paid 100 shipped to me on a scratch and dent sale year and years ago. LOL no dents and only one small scratch
other one buddy found for me on craigslist for 50, couldn't pass it up

Replaced the passenger front caliper, pads and rotor (NAPA Eclipse reman, Adaptive One and Ultra Premium, respectively). Have the driver's side ready to bolt back together as soon as the caliper comes in (I missed the last parts run by THAT MUCH). One pin in each caliper was welded to the pad bracket - really hard - and wouldn't work loose for nuttin'. Filled all the tires up with air - each one was between 29.2 and 30.5 PSI.

When I get everything bolted back up tomorrow, I'll get my husband to help me bleed both fronts. I have a Mityvac, but 2-person bleeding works so much better. I just got my toys put away and got back inside when the rain started.

Brushed and put rust converter everywhere I could get to and looked at the upper ball joints. As soon as the weather's nicer, I need to install the new upper control arms I got from JBA.

Jeep seriously needed a bath. Found a place with a deluxe automated wash/wax w/ a serious under body wash.
I turned the mirror down and viewed the salty gunk from under body draining off.
The McGard lock lugs had surface rust I had to address, and cleaned up the upper A-Arms.

I use different stuff in different places.

Evaporust works great if you can soak stuff for days (or weeks.) I've put rusty nuts, bolts, screws, tools, etc. in a bucket of the stuff, let it sit for a long time, agitate a-periodically, and the results have been impressive. I should note that stuff I've treated with Evaporust does rust again, so it doesn't create a shell like some other products.

Krud Kutter (gel right now) works amazing on surfaces you need converter to stick to. Was using it under the jeep. Cleans up with denatured alcohol for priming and painting. They claim up to a year of protection after treatment, if you don't top coat the surface. I'd try their liquid stuff if I wanted something faster or more aggressive than Evaporust.

Finally, POR-15 appears to be doing great under the jeep as well for large coverage areas. I'm happy with the initial results.

Obviously, YMMV.
