Oil n filter changed, water pump, thermostat, lower hose all changed and I think most of the air is out, sitting a lil below half on the gauge.... discovered the tensioner is dying, anyone ever have their lower pulley misalign? Starting to rub a bit. Also got a welder to learn with, gonna try it out on the hitchbasket.

I would love to as well, ordered them 14 days ago and still MIA, about ready to stop payment and find someone else or build my own
Shipping on a lot of things has been pretty bad....got my thermostat yesterday. Already replaced everything and got a store one Saturday waiting on this to arrive. Had to get to work yesterday so there's that.

Removed the serpentine belt & tensioner, removed upper & lower radiator hoses, removed the cowl between the hood & windshield to clean underneath & reseal the air intake, removed the front passenger & rear seat to pull up the carpet to start drying it out (water leak at front passenger door seal). New parts going in tomorrow.

Ran out to get gas for mower just a few minutes ago.
Guy at other pump says my Dad has one of them out behind the garage
Me "WHAT, WHERE, WHATS WRONG, HOW MUCH ?????"
He told me motor starting missing bad so they just parked it since they didn't know how to work on "cars" and it never did have any power on hills around here.
So follow him out , start looking and yep "another 4 cylinder" , doors good , back gate has been hit but overall good except for motor and the gate
So another one to add to the pile of KJs when I get the time to go get it ;)

^^^^ There’s another set of 4.10’s.

I’m a little jealous of how easy it is to find a set of 4.10’s if you have a KJ. The KK’s never came with them.

I have yet to even see a 4 cylinder one in person. Must not have been too popular in Idaho
I have only seen two , fully intact 4 cylinders , rest were just the diffs
well three actually , seen third one the day it was going to the crusher , guy already had diffs, transfer case , out, well all the good stuff
2 of them came from South Carolina and Georgia , not sure of the history of todays find
Very underpowered so not many sold really

I'm still on the fence about going to 4.10 or 3.73 from 3.55.

Code:
final 3.55 @3k | 3.73 | 4.1
gear ratio total mph shift | total mph | total mph
1 4.46 15.83 17 3000 | 16.64 16 | 18.29 14
2 2.61 9.27 28 1756 | 9.74 27 | 10.70 25
3 1.72 6.11 43 1977 | 6.42 41 | 7.05 37
4 1.25 4.44 59 2180 | 4.66 56 | 5.73 51
5 1 3.55 74 2400 | 3.73 71 | 4.10 64
6 0.84 2.98 89 2520 | 3.13 84 | 3.44 76
TG @ 60mph 2044 | 2147 | 2360
245/70R16 correction 2030 | 2132 | 2343
235/75R16 correction 2002 | 2103 | 2312
245/75R16 correction 1964 | 2063 | 2268

so the question is: based on all of that... what final drive and what tire size, considering iTow (with one of the aforementioned sizes) and iPlow (with 225/75R16 studded snow tires), but don't want to totally ****** my already meh fuel economy when i'm not doing either of those things. (17.694 mpg lifetime average.) I'm getting new tires in the spring, after the snow season is over.

one thing I'm noticing is, I'd probably would skip shift a LOT less with 4.10. with 3.55 i'm frequently 3-6 and 4-6 shifting when getting up to highway speeds (~65mph), and i'm very curious if 4.10 would almost elminate the need to start in 1st most of the time. as it is I start off in 2nd any time I'm pointed down hill and I can roll for a second before engaging the clutch. even on flats 1st with 3.55 is annoying as it always feels like it's too short for me only takeoffs, and 2nd is too tall where I feel like i'm abusing the clutch.

oh jedi master @tommudd what say you! :D

eta: i'm leaning towards going nuts, and doing 245/75R16 and 4.10
